BYD Factory Will Generate More Than 10 Thousand Job Openings
With the installation of its first factory outside of Asia, set to begin construction in February of next year, BYD in Bahia plans to generate around 10 thousand direct and indirect jobs in the region, according to media reports. This ambitious project by the brand aims not only to expand BYD’s presence in Brazil but also to strengthen the economy of Bahia.

BYD Also Announces New Stores in Rio Grande do Sul
In addition to this new BYD factory in Bahia, which promises to generate thousands of job openings, Rio Grande do Sul will receive six new BYD stores next year. This effort by the automaker joins many others to expand its influence in Brazil. According to data from Ambrosio Pesce, commercial director of Iesa, responsible for selling vehicles from the Chinese company, BYD stores will be opened in six cities in 2024.
For next year, another unit will be established in the capital city, along with Passo Fundo, Caxias do Sul, Novo Hamburgo, Pelotas, and Santa Maria. At an event held at the Edu Chaves store with the presence of national and global executives, BYD’s global vice president, Stella Li, stated that her participation was precisely aimed at increasing the opening of BYD stores in the city and the state, generating new job openings.
