Inspection in São José dos Campos Gains Reinforcement During the Holiday Season
With the natural increase of celebrations at the end of the year, the City Hall decided to reinforce the inspection in São José dos Campos to prevent abuses.
The strategy prioritized locations with a history of complaints, primarily related to disturbance of peace and irregular use of sound equipment.
Furthermore, the preventive action sought to reduce risks to traffic safety.
For this reason, the teams set up checkpoints and operations at strategic points, especially during the night and early morning.
Seizure of Motorcycles Marks Actions Against Irregularities
During the operations, the seizure of motorcycles was one of the main results of the inspection.
In total, 33 motorcycles and one car were taken out of circulation for various infractions.
Among the identified problems were lack of registration, absence of required documentation, and dangerous driving.
According to the City Hall, these practices increase the risk of accidents and are often associated with disturbance of peace, especially when they involve irregular exhaust systems and excessive sound.
Loud Sound in Public Streets Remains the Main Target
Another central focus of the actions was combating loud sound in public streets, one of the greatest sources of complaints from the population.
Vehicles with sound equipment at high volume and gatherings in residential areas received special attention.
According to the authorities, the goal is not to prevent celebrations, but to ensure that they occur within legal limits.
Thus, the inspection acts to balance the right to leisure with the right to rest for residents.
Commercial Establishments Were Also Penalized
In addition to the actions on public streets, teams from the Municipal Code and Urban Aesthetics Department inspected bars and other businesses.
The inspection penalized five establishments for causing disturbance of peace, mainly for disrespecting operating hours and limits.
These actions, therefore, show that citizens, merchants, and public authorities share responsibility for urban order.
Inspection Will Continue Until the New Year, Says Director
According to the director of the Municipal Code and Urban Aesthetics Department, Rodrigo Andrade, the work remains intensified until the end of the year.
“It is work that we do throughout the year via the Municipal Guard and inspections, but we intensify it at the end of the year.
Although we know that it is a festive time when people enjoy celebrating, there can be no excesses and abuses.
So we set up a specific operation, just like we did at Christmas, precisely to curb irregularities during these New Year’s days”, he stated in an interview with Bom Dia Vanguarda.
Integrated Action Expands the Reach of Operations
Andrade also highlighted that the action occurs in a coordinated manner.
“The focus is to inspect commercial establishments so that they do not abuse their operations, causing disturbance. And the greater focus is on public streets.
The Municipal Guard will be active, setting up checkpoints and operations in areas with a higher incidence of vehicles, such as motorcycles causing disturbance, cars with loud sound, and gatherings. We will carry out integrated work to curb these irregularities.”
In this way, the Municipal Guard works side by side with municipal inspectors, increasing the effectiveness of the actions.
How to Report Disturbance of Peace
Residents of São José dos Campos who feel harmed by disturbance of peace, excessive sound, or irregularities can contact the Municipal Guard by phone 153.
The City Hall emphasizes that reports are essential to direct inspections in São José dos Campos, allowing for quicker and more efficient responses, especially during periods of higher movement in the city.
