First synthetic gasoline is already being manufactured on a large scale in the world! New fuel does not require mechanical adaptations to fuel everything from cars to ships and planes!

Petroleum-free gasoline? The first global plant for green fuel opened on December 20, 2022! Chile, in partnership with Siemens Energy, Porsche and other multinationals, created e-gasoline, the first synthetic gasoline in the world that promises to revolutionize sustainable energy on the planet! A CNN Brazil it was the only Brazilian vehicle to cover the launch of the industrial complex!

The basis of the entire synthetic gasoline process is made up of two well-known elements present in the Magallanes region, in the extreme south of Chile: wind and water. The new fuel promises to be part of a true technological revolution.

CNN had access to a private room at the plant where employees keep three glass jars with samples of the new fuel. According to the newspaper, the new synthetic gasoline produced on a large scale in the world is transparent like water and has a moderate smell of alcohol.

Wind and water: The strong winds in the Magallanes region, in the extreme south of Chile, provide more than XNUMX hours of maximum operating load for generating green electricity, about three times the amount available in Europe, and kick-start the production process. The second essential element used is water.

Synthetic gasoline is capable of fueling everything from cars to ships and planes, while reducing carbon emissions. “It is one of the cleanest gasolines in the world coming into operation. It is a great innovation being done now and not in the future”, says André Clark, Senior VP at Siemens Energy for Latin America.

Porsche, also a partner in the project, fueled the Mobil 1 Supercup model with the new petroleum-free gasoline!

According to information from CNN, the plant first uses the electrolysis process, which separates water into oxygen and hydrogen, for the large-scale production of the revolutionary ecological fuel.

The next step is to synthesize the components with carbon dioxide, generating synthetic methanol. With the refining process, the structure turns the compound into gasoline.

Synthetic gasoline emits 90% less CO2 into the atmosphere than fossil fuels (petroleum) and does not require mechanical adaptations to vehicles to be used.

The German automaker Porsche, also a partner in the project, filled the Mobil 1 Supercup tank and circulated normally through the plant as it would with any other fuel made from petroleum!

The future of sustainable energy on the planet will pass through Brazil and Chile

Production of the new synthetic gasoline reached 750 liters per year in its pilot phase, but promises to reach the target of 55 million liters of e-gasoline per year by 2025 and 550 million liters per year by 2027. It is enough fuel for more than one million people to drive their cars for almost a year.

“This test is also extremely important for operations in Brazil. The wind quality in Patagonia is very similar to that in northeastern Brazil and the potential is gigantic. The future of sustainable energy on the planet will certainly pass through Brazil and Chile”, said the Senior VP of Siemens Energy
