Power And Range That Directly Respond To Consumer Criticism And Put Ford In The Running For Leadership In Electric Pickups

Ford has officially announced the arrival of the F-150 Lightning STX, an electric version that promises to be a game changer in the pickup market. The new model replaces the XLT and was shaped from a crucial point: listening to consumers who were asking for more range, robustness, and features geared toward real use, both on the pavement and off-road.

It is no coincidence that this update comes at a strategic moment. Sales of the Lightning have fallen nearly 10% compared to last year, according to data revealed by The Verge. With the F-150 Lightning STX, Ford aims to reclaim space and confidence, delivering numbers that grab attention: 536 horsepower, 775 lb.-ft. of torque, and an estimated range of 466 kilometers per charge, according to EPA standards.

This combination places the pickup at a level of strength and efficiency capable of competing directly with other giants in the electric sector. After all, power without range does not convince, and range without power does not win. Ford seems to have found the balance.

Renewed Design Inspired By Off-Road That Reinforces Visual Robustness And Delivers Features That Were Only Possible With Aftermarket Modifications

More than just numbers, Ford knows that visual appeal weighs in on purchase decisions. The new F-150 Lightning STX arrives with a redesigned grille, bold blue lines, and “STX” badges prominently displayed on the exterior. The result is a more aggressive and modern presence, without losing the classic identity of the F-150 line.

Inspired by off-road versions, the STX incorporates elements already established in the Tremor, such as side steps, new wheels, all-terrain tires, and a standard electronic locking rear differential. The idea is clear: to offer factory-ready robustness that previously relied on aftermarket modifications.

Another highlight is in the interior. Those who need durability for daily use will have the option of a black vinyl floor trim, a practical and long-lasting solution. For those seeking exclusivity, the color palette includes two new additions: Argon Blue and Marsh Gray, in addition to the traditional range.

Competitive Price, Bold Market Strategy, And Ford’s Bet To Turn The F-150 Lightning STX Into A Leader Among Electric Pickups

The launch of the F-150 Lightning STX is scheduled for early 2026, with a starting price of US$ 63,345. Within the electric pickup segment, this is a competitive value, especially considering the package of features that Ford is delivering.

According to Will Marchand, marketing manager for the Lightning, the creation of the STX was directly motivated by customer feedback, as they previously had to rely on aftermarket modifications to make the electric pickup more durable. Now, this robustness comes ready, straight from the factory.

Ford bets that the STX will quickly become one of the best-selling models in the lineup, reinforcing the strategic role of the F-150 in the North American market.

A Pickup That Can Redefine The Future Of Mobility, Balancing Strength, Confidence, And The Transition To The Electric World

The Ford F-150 Lightning STX is not just another lineup update. It brings a concrete answer to the question many consumers ask before transitioning to electric: Is it worth trading the strength and confidence of a traditional pickup for a battery-powered version?

With more power, competitive range, and design aligned with consumer preferences, Ford takes a firm step toward consolidating the transition. The challenge now will be to maintain the promise of robustness and reliability in everyday use.

And you, do you believe that an electric pickup like the Ford F-150 Lightning STX already has what it takes to replace combustion models in heavy-duty work?
