Last Thursday (25), Ford celebrated the signing of the contract for the construction of a new building at the company’s Development and Technology Center, located in the SENAI CIMATEC Park in Camaçari, Bahia.
The ceremony was attended by government officials, business leaders, and representatives of FIEB (Federation of Industries of the State of Bahia). This event marked the beginning of a new phase for Ford in Brazil, with the expansion of its facilities and the promise to boost the national automotive sector.

Since its establishment in 2022, Ford’s Development and Technology Center at CIMATEC Park has been one of the main pillars of the company’s new business model in Brazil.
This is one of nine engineering centers of Ford worldwide, dedicated to creating the future of mobility with a focus on electrified vehicles, connected technologies, and autonomous technologies.
With a team of over 1,500 highly qualified professionals, the center dedicates 85% of its time to global projects, being responsible for one-third of the functionalities and technologies present in the brand’s cars.
Expansion and New Jobs: The Economic Impact on the Region
Ford’s current facilities at CIMATEC Park include six buildings, totaling 6,000 square meters of offices, virtual reality labs, and areas for disassembly and analysis of components.
The company plans to further expand its presence with the construction of a new engineering building, which will accommodate up to a thousand people and include offices, development labs, training areas, and an auditorium. The completion of the construction is expected by early 2026.
According to Alex Machado, Director of Product Development at Ford South America, “this expansion reinforces Ford’s commitment to continue investing in Brazilian talent and positions us as one of the most competent development centers of Ford in the world.”
In addition, the partnership with SENAI CIMATEC is seen as crucial for this expansion, providing a high-qualification and innovation environment.
Experts believe that the expansion not only reinforces Ford’s commitment to innovation and the development of cutting-edge technologies but also brings with it the promise of new jobs in the region.
