Approximately R$ 1 Million Will Be Invested in Full-Time Education and Green Economy
In this month of April, Foresea, a reference company in the offshore drilling sector, begins to put into practice its new Social and Environmental Responsibility Program, Foresea Socioambiental, which has been structured since January and is based on two major transformation axes: Full-Time Education and Green Economy. One of the program’s projects aims to provide support for the governance and management of basic education schools in Macaé. The second project focuses on supporting local entrepreneurs, aiming for work quality, development of local businesses, and income generation in Macaé.
The first workshops with representatives from the municipal schools’ management in Macaé were held from April 1 to 5, divided into nine groups with participation from about 100 schools and 170 school managers. In partnership with the Municipal Education Secretariat and support from the consultancy Transforma Aí, specialized in Local Development, Education, and Management for Sustainability programs, there were about 36 hours of activities to identify the actual needs for higher quality school management. From this initiative, strategies will be outlined for developing competencies that can add value to the management of the municipal education network and, as a consequence, strengthen public education.
On April 5 and 6, it was time for the managers of two cooperatives and collectors to participate in technical training workshops in management and waste processing. A total of 30 collectors and entrepreneurs participated, aiming to increase knowledge about community enterprise management and waste processing. Focused on the Green Economy, these workshops are the start of a structuring project that seeks to contribute to organizational development aimed at the efficiency and income generation of these entrepreneurs and collectors in Macaé.

“Social and environmental development is a fundamental value for Foresea. By investing in the two lines of action of the program, Full-Time Education and Green Economy, what we aim for with Foresea Socioambiental is to create a legacy of positive impact with value generation, sustainably, in the communities where we operate”, explains Foresea’s Vice President of Sustainability, Marco Aurélio Fonseca.
Foresea Socioambiental envisions an initial investment of approximately R$ 1 million. For next month, a volunteer action is already being organized on the waterfront of Macaé, with the participation of company members. “Another goal of Foresea Socioambiental is also to work on sustainability from the inside out based on our culture and behaviors, engaging our workforce in actions like this and reinforcing the ties with the communities around us”, adds Marco Aurélio Fonseca.
