GAC Aion S Max Debuts In Brazil With A 204 HP Electric Motor And A Range Of Up To 610 Km, Promising To Challenge Competitors In The Electrified Sedan Segment.
The Brazilian electric vehicle market is about to gain another heavyweight competitor from China. The manufacturer GAC, through its electric division Aion, has officially registered the industrial designs of the GAC Aion S Max with the National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), signaling the possible arrival of the model in the country. With 204 hp of power and a range of up to 610 km, the sedan promises to shake up the medium-large electric segment. The registration was recently published and places the Chinese electric sedan GAC Aion S Max as a strong candidate to join the manufacturer’s portfolio in Brazil.
The arrival is part of GAC’s expansion strategy in the country, where the company has already confirmed the arrival of another electric model, the Aion S.
GAC Aion S Max Is Larger Than The Aion S And Has A Fluid Design With Highlight LEDs
With 4.86 meters in length, 1.89 m in width, and 2.76 m in wheelbase, the GAC Aion S Max is visibly larger than the already confirmed GAC Aion S. Its size is close to executive models, highlighting the modern and refined visual ensemble.

Ducati brings to Brazil the Superleggera V4 Centenario: 228 hp that become 247 with a track kit, carbon fiber and carbon-ceramic brakes, estimated price between R$ 1.5 and 2 million, deliveries only in 2027.
At the front, the sedan stands out with daytime running lights in LED separate from the main headlights, which also feature independent turn signals — all with full LED technology. The clean and horizontal optical assembly reinforces the vehicle’s premium proposal. At the rear, a single light bar connects the taillights, enhancing the perception of width of the model.
The C-pillars receive exclusive finishing, an element that gives a unique visual identity to the S Max within the Aion line. The design emphasizes fluidity and sobriety, contrasting with the sportier proposal of rivals like the BYD Seal.
Interior Of The GAC Aion S Max Electric Sedan Follows Current Trends With Horizontal Screens And Elevated Console
Upon entering the GAC Aion S Max, the driver finds a minimalist and technological environment. The instrument panel is digital, in a compact horizontal format, while the central multimedia system, in a centralized position, resembles a smart TV, with touch-sensitive controls and full connectivity.

The central console is high and hollow, offering smart storage space and ergonomics, while the three-spoke steering wheel is functional but with a more discreet design. The seats and interior finishing follow the category standard, with quality materials and a contemporary look.
Electric Motor With Up To 245 Hp And Range Of 610 Km According To CLTC
In the Chinese market, the GAC Aion S Max can be purchased with a 204 hp or 245 hp motor, always with front-wheel drive. It is not yet confirmed which version will arrive in Brazil, but the trend is that the more powerful model will be chosen to occupy a top position within the brand in the country.
The lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery offers a range of up to 610 km on the CLTC cycle, the Chinese energy measurement standard. Considering the European WLTP cycle, which is closer to what is used in Brazil, this range should be around 450 to 480 real km, which is still a very competitive figure.
Electric Sedan GAC Aion S Max May Not Directly Challenge The BYD Seal, But It Targets The Premium Audience
Despite all its attributes, the GAC Aion S Max is not expected to directly target the BYD Seal, which focuses on sporty performance, all-wheel drive, and semi-autonomous driving technologies. The GAC model has a proposal more aimed at comfort, range, and accessible sophistication, as an alternative to the medium-large sedans that today concentrate on hybrid or combustion models.
If it arrives in Brazil with a competitive price, the Aion S Max could compete with the BYD Dolphin Plus, Renault Megane E-Tech and even with the Toyota Corolla hybrid, although the latter belongs to another energy category.
GAC Accelerates Plans In Brazil And Aims For Expansion In The Electric Segment
The GAC Aion has already begun the international expansion process focusing on emerging and sustainable markets. The brand has officially confirmed the arrival of the electric sedan Aion S in Brazil and has concurrently registered the design of the Aion S Max, along with other models from the line. The expectation is that the company will begin operations in the second half of 2025 with showrooms in the major capitals of the country.
With over 4.6 million electric vehicles sold in China in recent years and a robust technological base, GAC intends to use Brazil as a platform for entry into Latin America, offering sedans, SUVs, and eventually electric commercial models.
