Processed Natural Gas at Comperj Will Have a Delivery Point in Guapimirim, Rio de Janeiro, on the Gasduc III Pipeline, and Construction Is Expected to Last 1 Year.
The UPGN at Comperj continues to generate works throughout Rio de Janeiro, just over a month after announcing that it will invest 900 million reais over the next five years, Nova Transportadora Sudeste (NTS) received authorization from ANP to build the natural gas delivery point PR Guapimirim (RJ), on the Gasduc III pipeline, with a capacity of 18.2 million m³/day.
NTS did not disclose how many jobs will be generated by the construction, but reported that the works are expected to last about one year in the municipality of Guapimirim in the Baixada Fluminense.

The PR (Delivery Point) in Guapimirim will receive the processed gas from the UPGN at Comperj, which is under construction by Petrobras and Kerui Metodo, aiming to treat production from the pre-salt, evacuated through Rota 3 (including gas from the transfer of onerous rights).
Petrobras still holds a 10% stake in NTS, which is controlled by an investment fund that also includes Brookfield (82.35%) and Itaúsa (7.65%). The Brazilian state-owned company has already indicated that it plans to gradually exit the fuel transportation and distribution market.
The Company Responsible for the Construction
The company is preparing for the future expansion of the network and attracting new clients beyond Petrobras; today, NTS is responsible for a network of over 2,000 km of pipelines connecting the states of Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo (accounting for 50% of gas consumption in Brazil) to the Brazil-Bolivia pipeline, LNG terminals, and gas processing plants.
NTS’s pipelines connect Brazil’s most industrialized region and distribute 158.2 million m³ of gas per day, with its control sold by Petrobras for over 5 billion dollars to Brookfield in April 2017.
