Havan is a company based in the city of Brusque, in Santa Catarina. In short, the institution has existed since the 80s and has been promoting a series of social programs to help Brazilians during the crisis, such as the zero tax. Luciano Hang, representative and owner of the institution, says he is against taxation and is interested in showing his customers how much they pay in taxes when buying liters of gasoline.
The promotion zero tax held by Havan began in the host city, in Brusque, Santa Catarina, during last Thursday. In this way, the population would be able to buy up to 15 liters of gasoline for the price of R$ 4,99 – it is worth noting that, in the municipality, the price per liter is already above R$ 7,2. Even during the morning, before the opening of the promotion, it was possible to observe kilometric queues. Couples reported in interviews that they waited more than 8 hours to buy liters of gasoline. Many people made fun of the situation, one internet user commented: “for the time they stayed in line, they could have worked overtime to pay the R$ 30 difference!”
According to the portal County, the queue was so long that it reached the Gustavo Halfpap and headed towards Centro-Primeiro de Maio. The doubt of many people, despite the low amount of liters that could be purchased with the zero tax discount, is about the possibility of the program happening again in the city and in other capitals distributed throughout Brazil.

Will Havan's zero tax work again?
The zero tax on Havan tends to happen at least once a year as an initiative of the “Véio da Havan” to show the population the high amount that is paid in taxes for each liter of fuel. However, the promotion is not expected to continue throughout 2022 and will only return in 2023.
To participate in the promotion is quite simple: the gas stations open at 9 am and you must line up, with the right to start fueling those who arrived first. Each person is entitled to 15 liters of fuel. Payment can be made either in cash or by credit or debit card, customers also have the alternative of paying the tank filling in several installments using the Havan card, which does not incur interest.
Gasoline may increase to double digits and worries the people of Santa Catarina
During this week, China reported that it would be easing the country's measures against the Covid-19 pandemic. The news associated with the risk of shortages caused the value of the Brent oil reached more than US$ 120. As it is higher, it is estimated that, soon, Petrobras will have to increase the value of the refineries for the sale of fuels.
As a consequence, Brazil suffers from double-digit accumulated inflation and tends to worsen this year. Central Bank expectations, even with interest rates at 11,75%, are not positive. The crisis between Ukraine and Russia since the end of February has accentuated the international market.
