The Partnership to Develop Sustainable Aircraft Was Signed Between Embraer and American Airlines. The Two Companies Aim to Together Implement Several Innovative Technologies in the Vehicles
Embraer (EMBR3) revealed a significant partnership with American Airlines in the pursuit of sustainable aircraft. On Tuesday, the 26th, Embraer announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with American Airlines, allowing the U.S. airline to join the Project Energia Advisory Group. This group is comprised of a team of airlines, aircraft leasing companies, suppliers, and other aviation experts, all working together to develop aircraft with sustainable technologies for the future, according to Infomoney.
American Airlines will work closely with the Advisory Group and Embraer to define performance and design requirements for the four Energia concept aircraft. These aircraft, which range from 9 to 50 seats, will be powered by electric, hydrogen, and hybrid propulsion technologies.
This joint commitment aims to create the next generation of sustainable aircraft with technology, significantly reducing carbon emissions in commercial aviation. Embraer and American Airlines will work together to establish real-world requirements for sustainable aviation, aiming for an emissions-free solution that is also commercially viable.
