Future of the Electric Car Market in Goiás
Despite the current price of electric cars, this situation may change, according to the vice-president of the Brazilian Association of Innovative Electric Vehicle Owners (Abravei), Rodrigo de Almeida, who stated that there are strong indications that electric cars may become great allies to consumers’ wallets.
Among the benefits mentioned, the main one highlighted was the maintenance cost to keep the vehicles running, as there is no need to replace parts such as air filters, and the vehicle does not use fuels, which significantly reduces the wear on brake pads due to the way its electric motor operates. Additionally, Goiás is expected to increasingly expand charging stations, making life easier for those who choose an electric vehicle.
Vice-President of Abravei Highlights the Main Costs of Electric Cars
Almeida also spoke about his personal costs with his vehicle, highlighting that in the first 40,000 km, he spent at most R$600, which he considered advantageous. However, the vice-president of Abravei reported that, even though electric vehicles offer great advantages, it is still necessary to wait a bit longer for them to become a truly viable option for consumers in general.
Rodrigo also emphasized that, in order to charge an electric car, there is a fee that represents a value between 20% and 25% of the cost to refuel an internal combustion vehicle.
The vice-president of Abravei highlighted the current models of electric cars and other electric vehicles that already have a range to operate on roads, between 220 km and 600 km, with a full charge, something that will certainly need to be further improved, as new models will soon enter the market.
