The Amazonas Development Council Approved Yesterday (29) About 69 Projects That Will Generate Jobs and New Investments
Yesterday, during the 289th Ordinary Meeting of the Amazonas Development Council (Codam), 69 new projects and investments of approximately R$ 15 billion were approved, which will generate about 3,000 new jobs in the state. The government council, directly linked to the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology, and Innovation (Sedecti), approved the projects unanimously.

Approval of Projects by the Government and Job Creation
The projects approved by the body directly linked to the Government of the State of Amazonas were divided into the following categories: implementation (new enterprises to be created in the state); diversification (inclusion of other products in the manufacturing park); and updating (modification of the initial project of the enterprise).
According to the Amazonas Development Council, the investments from all the projects approved during the meeting will be applied over the next three years (until 2024) and are expected to generate around 3,875 new jobs, in addition to repurposing approximately 2,736 job positions in the industry. Furthermore, the government also cites job creation from the new approved projects that will drive regional development, promoting economic circulation and income.

Large Companies Can Generate More Jobs in the State of Amazonas
Samsung, the South Korean multinational, presented the largest investment project in the state of Amazonas. The company, which operates in various technological areas, showed three new projects, aimed at the production of notebooks, home theaters, and smartphones, with a total investment expected of R$ 8 billion, about 59.4% of what will be invested in the state of Amazonas, in addition to generating 731 new jobs, with 1,852 jobs being repurposed.
The electronics company that presented the second largest investment in projects in the state of Amazonas was LG Electronics. The company intends to invest around R$ 3.8 billion, equivalent to 25.8% of the main agenda, in addition to generating 240 new jobs and 230 repurposed positions. LG presented three projects to the Government of the State of Amazonas, two for diversification in the production of notebooks, microcomputers, LCD monitors, and video projectors, and a third project in the updating modality, for the production of screens that will be used in the manufacturing of televisions and video monitors.
Investments Directed to the Interior of Amazonas
In the municipality of Iranduba, the company Juruá Estaleiro plans to invest R$ 24 million in the state of Amazonas over the next three years. The company had its project approved ad referendum in February of this year and will build vessels for the transportation of cargo and passengers. The specific project promises the creation of 19 new jobs and the utilization of another 118 already existing in other projects of its manufacturing park.
In the south of the state of Amazonas, the city of Humaitá will receive investments from the company Brazil Nuts, which operates in the production of dehydrated Brazil nuts. About R$ 300,000 in investments will be applied until 2024.
