The Much-Awaited Construction of a New 90-Meter Bridge Begins with Investments of R$ 6.1 Million. Project Aims to Improve Traffic and Eliminate Historical Congestion, Benefiting Thousands of Drivers Daily.
After years of waiting, the Federal Government has given the green light for the construction of a new bridge that will connect the municipalities of Guaporé and Anta Gorda, in Rio Grande do Sul. The authorization for the construction of this new bridge, which will be 90 meters long and cost R$ 6.1 million, represents a historic achievement for the region. This investment aims to eliminate bottlenecks and significantly improve connectivity between the two cities, promising to positively impact the lives of residents and boost local development.
A Milestone for Guaporé and Anta Gorda: The Construction of the New Bridge Represents a Long-Awaited Dream
The construction of the new bridge represents a milestone in development and accessibility for the region, something that the residents of Guaporé and Anta Gorda have been waiting for a long time. On Thursday, October 24, the mayors Valdir Carlos Fabris (Guaporé) and Francisco David Frighetto (Anta Gorda) signed the contract for the development of the engineering executive project, initiating the process.
The work will be conducted by the company Eco Pontes – Sistemas Estruturais Sustentáveis Ltda., a specialist in reinforced concrete and metal structure bridge constructions, ensuring that the new bridge meets modern safety and durability standards.

The mayor of Guaporé, Valdir Carlos Fabris, described the moment as “historic,” emphasizing that the new bridge will bring benefits to the entire region, in addition to solving mobility issues between the two municipalities.
“I am very happy because the region wins; it is not just Guaporé and Anta Gorda. It was indeed a lengthy process; I would have liked to inaugurate it during my term. It will not be possible, but the work is confirmed,” the mayor stated, highlighting how essential the construction of the new bridge is for the region.
Investment from the Federal Government and Mayoral Contributions for the Construction of the New Bridge
The project for the construction of the new bridge involves an investment of R$ 6.1 million, of which R$ 3.9 million will be provided by the Federal Government.
The municipalities of Guaporé and Anta Gorda will also contribute to the investment, providing R$ 1.1 million each as a counterpart. This financial contribution represents not only an important collaboration between federal and municipal governments but also demonstrates the commitment to solving a problem that affects the lives of residents.
For the mayor of Anta Gorda, Francisco David Frighetto, the construction of the new bridge represents the realization of a dream for the community.
“Finally, we are starting the development process for the regions of Alto Taquari. This is a project that has been in the works for some time, and now it is becoming a reality. For us, this is a joy and satisfaction,” Frighetto said, emphasizing the importance of the new bridge for regional integration and development.
Deadlines and Challenges: Expected Inauguration of the New Bridge in the First Half of 2025
With the contract signed and the executive project underway, Eco Pontes is ready to begin work in November, with an expected completion in about six months. The commercial director of Eco Pontes, Fernando Húngaro, estimates that the inauguration of the new bridge should take place in the first half of 2025.
“Now we will adjust the executive projects and begin work in November. It is certain that we will face some difficulties with weather conditions, but nothing that will prevent the delivery of the project by early April. For us, it is a great pleasure given what the bridge represents for the regional community,” Húngaro commented, making clear the company’s commitment to the delivery timeline.
The construction of a new bridge in this location is urgent, considering the importance of the route for residents and for commercial traffic in the region. The old bridge, which was destroyed in September 2023, caused a series of disruptions for the population.
Since the incident, the alternatives for traveling between Guaporé and Anta Gorda involve longer routes through Encantado or Itapuca, increasing travel time and impacting the daily lives of those who need to commute between the cities.
