Horizon Solar Modules with HPBC Technology Arrive in Brazil Through the Partnership Between LONGi and the Descarbonize Group, Bringing Innovation, Safety, and High Efficiency to the Residential Photovoltaic Sector.
The Descarbonize Solutions Group has formalized a new strategic partnership with the global giant LONGi, aiming to distribute Horizon line solar modules equipped with advanced HPBC (Hybrid Passivated Back Contact) technology throughout Brazil.
The equipment brings significant gains in efficiency, safety, and durability, representing a technological leap for the national photovoltaic sector.
What Is HPBC Technology and Why Is It Revolutionary
The Horizon modules stand out for using HPBC technology, which eliminates front contacts on solar cells – an innovation that allows for greater light absorption and improves energy conversion.

Copel boosts solar energy in Paraná and brings innovation to public schools, promoting savings on electricity bills, energy efficiency, and a direct impact on the quality of education.
With an efficiency greater than 23.3%, these modules are designed to maintain high performance even in locations with lower solar incidence or less favorable installation angles.
Another highlight is the ability of HPBC modules to operate with less efficiency loss, even when partially shaded.
Additionally, the design that prevents ribbon blockages contributes to an additional gain of up to 2.27% in energy production compared to traditional technologies.
More Safety and Reliability for Consumers
In addition to the efficiency gains, the new line distributed by the Descarbonize Group stands out for its robustness and operational safety.
The Horizon modules present a lower risk of microcracks, hotspots, and arcing failures – critical factors that affect the durability and safe operation of photovoltaic systems.
These devices have also excelled in rigorous international tests, such as PID, DML, TC, and UV.
Renowned institutions like CEA (USA) and GSolar (China) have already confirmed the reliability of the modules in real energy generation simulations.
Lightweight Design, Adaptability, and International Recognition
The Horizon modules weigh between 24.6 kg and 28.5 kg, ensuring resistance and easy adaptation to different types of roofs – a decisive factor in the residential market.
Manufactured in globally recognized units, such as the Jiaxing plant in China, they have ISO and IEC certifications. The production unit also received the Lighthouse Factory seal in 2023, a recognition given to factories that operate with excellence in digitization and efficiency.
Statements Reinforce the Importance of the Strategic Partnership
For Nuno Verças, CEO of Descarbonize Solutions Group, the partnership with LONGi represents an essential step towards modernizing the Brazilian photovoltaic sector:
“Our partnership with this player in the photovoltaic market goes beyond the fact that it is a company classified as AAA in the sector. What really motivated us was the realization that they are at the forefront of technological development, offering equipment with a lower deterioration rate – which means greater durability and energy generation over time,” he stated. “Their products feature advanced performance characteristics, such as the ability to continue generating energy even when part of the cells is covered. The combination of technological innovation and market excellence was decisive for us to establish this partnership.”
Jin Yong, general manager of the SA Representation Office, reinforces Brazil’s strategic role for LONGi:
“Descarbonize Group is our long-term partner in Brazil, and we are very honored and optimistic about this cooperation.”
According to him, the company’s operations in the country will be more active in 2025:
“We will face the market more proactively, meeting demands with greater reliability and offering each customer integrated and personalized solutions. We are working on a sincere and healthy cooperation that will have a positive impact on the photovoltaic sector. Our focus is to drive the market to opt for a more stable investment model, a safer solution, and more advanced technology. This is the purpose and importance of our cooperation.”
The partnership between Descarbonize Group and LONGi strengthens the solar energy landscape in Brazil by offering the residential market cutting-edge solutions, with high durability, energy efficiency, and safety.
The HPBC modules from the Horizon line arrive to meet a growing demand for more reliable and affordable renewable sources.
