Recognition from IT Forum Highlights Investments Exceeding R$ 402 Million Annually, Strategic Projects, and Advances in Digital Transformation in the Electric Sector
The Equatorial Group was recognized in 2025 as one of the 100 Most Innovative Companies in the Use of IT in Brazil, according to a ranking released by IT Forum, a publication specializing in technology and business. Additionally, the annual survey highlighted organizations that combine technological innovation, process efficiency, and impact on results. In total, according to IT Forum, 351 cases were entered in this edition.
Technical Criteria and Evaluation Methodology
According to IT Forum Inteligência, the list is constructed based on technical and objective criteria. Thus, projects are evaluated according to six main pillars, which include innovation, impact on results, IT leadership, complexity, sustainability, and strategic alignment. Therefore, the total score is 100%, considering companies from various sectors of the Brazilian economy.
Strategic Commitment to Digital Transformation
According to Mauricio Velloso, Director of Customers, Innovation, and Services at Equatorial, the recognition reinforces the commitment to digital transformation as a strategic lever for the business. Furthermore, he states that the company continuously invests in technology, processes, and people to enhance efficiency and sustainability. In this way, innovation is treated as an essential element to generate value for customers and society.

Official Announcement and Awards Ceremony
As announced by IT Forum, the final classification will be revealed on March 24, 2025. Additionally, the awards ceremony will take place at the Itaqui District, in Itapevi (SP), gathering executives and companies from the technology sector. Thus, the event consolidates the recognition of the most relevant initiatives of the year in the strategic use of IT.
Robust Investments in Technology and Innovation
Alongside the recognition, the Equatorial Group has been increasing its investments in innovation. Currently, the investments exceed R$ 402 million per year, maintaining a trajectory of continuous growth. At the same time, more than 50 projects are under development or implementation in different strategic areas.
Four Pillars Structure the Strategic Projects
These initiatives are organized into four central pillars: customers, operational efficiency and security, revenue assurance, and energy transition. Consequently, the company strengthens the modernization of electricity distribution in its areas of operation. Thus, the technological strategy directly integrates with the operational and financial objectives of the group.
ADMS Enhances Control and Operational Efficiency
Among the structural projects, the implementation of the ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) stands out. It is one of the largest systems for managing electricity distribution in the world, focused on real-time operation monitoring. Moreover, the technology helps reduce response time in occurrences and increases operational efficiency.
EQTLab Strengthens Innovation Culture Since 2023
Since 2023, the Equatorial Group has also fostered innovation through EQTLab, its Institute of Science and Technology. The hub is located in a restored historic mansion in São Luís (MA) and serves as a space dedicated to the development of disruptive solutions. At the same time, the institute trains talents, generates intellectual property, and strengthens the internal culture of innovation.
Additionally, EQTLab collaborates with startups and universities, enhancing integration between the market and research.
