Model Continues Production in the Chinese Market with Exclusive Front Redesign and 1.5 Naturally Aspirated Engine
Although it was discontinued in Brazil in 2021, the Honda Fit remains strong in the Chinese market. Now, the model is undergoing a striking visual redesign, featuring a new front design that brings its style closer to that of Toyota models.
Renewed Visual Focused on the Chinese Audience
The new version of the Honda Fit, revealed through images from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, features changes concentrated at the front. The divided headlights integrated into the grille, along with the new dark plastic bumper, have given the model a more aggressive look and, according to observers, a resemblance to some Toyota vehicles. The rear has seen more discreet changes, limited to the bumper. The changes were made specifically for the Chinese market, focusing on local preferences.
Mechanics Remain Unchanged from the Honda Fit

Under the hood, the Chinese Fit retains the 1.5 naturally aspirated engine with 124 hp, paired with a CVT automatic transmission. Despite progress in vehicle electrification in the country, this version continues without hybrid technology — something present in other variants of the Fit around the world. The decision to keep the traditional mechanical setup caters to a segment of consumers who still prioritize simplicity and affordability.

Model Exclusive to China
This update of the Honda Fit will be exclusive to the Chinese market, where the model is manufactured in partnership with the GAC-Honda joint venture. The expectation is that the updated model will be officially presented at one of the upcoming auto shows in China. For now, there is no expectation that this version will be exported to other countries.
Situation of the Honda Fit in Brazil
In Brazil, the Honda Fit has been replaced by the City Hatchback, which has taken on the role of compact hatchback in the brand’s lineup. Still, the Fit maintains a loyal following in the used market, with good appreciation and a reputation for mechanical reliability and internal versatility. According to Autoesporte, there are no plans to relaunch the model here.
