IFRJ Offers 26 Free High School Technical Courses. In total, there are more than 1700 vacancies spread across the Institute’s units in Rio de Janeiro, and one of them could be yours!
IFRJ – Federal Institute of Rio de Janeiro is conducting an open selection process for filling vacancies related to Professional Technical Education at the High School level, offered in an integrated manner with High School. There will be 1,764 vacancies in free technical courses intended for IFRJ units for the 2022 school year, which will begin in March. See below how to apply.

The selection process will be conducted through three distinct forms of selection, according to the candidate’s choice: in-person objective test, public lottery, or analysis of the elementary school academic record. Vacancies will be distributed with one-third of the total number for each selection method. 34% of the vacancies will be offered for general competition and 66% for the Vacancy Reservation System (VRS) for Public Schools. In case this second type is not filled, the remaining vacancies will be filled by candidates according to the classification order.

Senai will pay up to R$ 700 per month for those who take free technical courses: there are 12,000 open positions across Brazil and training with access to the technology market.
Only students who have completed all grades of Elementary School in Brazilian public schools from federal, state, or municipal spheres, in regular courses or within the scope of Youth and Adult Education (EJA); and students who have obtained a completion certificate based on the results of the National Examination for the Certification of Youth and Adult Competencies (ENCCEJA), certification exams, or assessments for youth and adults conducted by state education systems may compete through the Vacancy Reservation System for Public Schools.
The certification issued by the Federal Institute of Education, Science, and Technology of Rio de Janeiro – IFRJ will be in a single certificate, referring to the Technical High School Education, after the completion of the mandatory curriculum matrix and the supervised internship when required.
