Hiring Starts in April 2025
According to information released by the Diário do Aço, hiring by the company Nova 381, responsible for the concession, will begin in April 2025.
The focus will be on local labor, prioritizing residents of the neighboring cities to the highway.
This measure aims to foster regional development and strengthen commerce in the areas affected by the highway.
The concession contract will be signed in January 2025, marking the official start of Nova 381’s operations.
In the first 100 days of management, emergency actions are planned, including improvements to the safety and infrastructure of the highway, such as signaling, paving, and cleaning.
These initial actions are part of the effort to transform BR-381 into a safer and more efficient highway.
Why Prioritize Local Labor?
Nova 381 emphasized in meetings with regional leaders that it will prioritize hiring local workers for services on the highway.
This approach not only generates direct jobs but also stimulates the economy of nearby cities, increasing the circulation of income and promoting development.

- Duplication of 106 kilometers of the concessioned stretch.
- Construction of 23 pedestrian overpasses.
- Implementation of additional lanes over 83 kilometers.
- Correction of 51 paths considered dangerous.
- Installation of escape areas and stopping points for drivers.
These interventions aim to increase safety, reduce the number of accidents, and provide better conditions for users of the highway.
According to Marcelo Boaventura, director of Nova 381, the initial actions will give “a new face” to BR-381, transforming it into a model of highway infrastructure in Brazil.
Economic Impact on the Region
The concession of BR-381 goes beyond physical works. The expectation is that job creation and the prioritization of local suppliers will bring significant benefits to the regional economy.
During meetings, representatives of Nova 381 highlighted that purchases of materials and services will also be directed, whenever possible, to local companies.
This commitment was reinforced by Guilherme Sampaio, director of the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT), who emphasized the importance of involving communities in the project.
