The Future of Highways in Minas Gerais Is About to Change After the Auction of an Important 187-Km Highway That Will Benefit 11 Municipalities

The Government of Minas is in full action with the Caminhos pra Avançar program, which stands out as the largest highway recovery project in recent decades. In an auction scheduled for 2025, an impressive amount of R$ 2.92 billion will be allocated for the duplication of roads and improvements along an extensive stretch of 187 km that will benefit 11 municipalities, including the iconic historical cities of Ouro Preto and Mariana, according to jornalmaisminas.

Road Duplication Brings New Opportunities

The project is not limited to the duplication of 67.4 km of highways; it also includes the construction of a 7.3 km bypass in Cachoeira do Campo, as well as 12.7 km of urban crossings. These improvements aim not only at safety but also at the convenience of drivers and pedestrians. To ensure even easier access, 71 new bus stops and 11 footbridges will be installed.

Robust Investments Drive Development

With a total investment of R$ 4.5 billion, the program has already revitalized approximately 2,000 km of roads, with 66 completed projects so far. The government is directing nearly R$ 2 billion to the 43 ongoing projects, while an additional 34 projects, totaling 762 km, are planned for the future, with a forecast of R$ 1 billion.

The Importance of Highways for the Economy

The recovery of highways is essential to strengthen the state infrastructure and boost economic and sustainable development. The government is committed to integrating criteria for environmental preservation and interaction with local communities in all new works. Additionally, the maintenance and modernization of existing roads, such as the revitalization of MGC-418, known as Rodovia do Boi, are examples of the commitment to connect Minas to other regions of Brazil.

The Role of the Highway Auction

The highway auction in 2025, which includes the stretch of Ouro Preto-Mariana, represents a significant step in transforming the highway infrastructure of Minas Gerais. With road duplication and the implementation of new crossings and accesses, the government is not only improving mobility but also promoting the economic and touristic development of the region.

Minas Gerais Towards the Logistic Future

These ambitious projects seek to expand the coverage of paved roads and improve accessibility, consolidating Minas as a nationally significant logistics center. The positive impact on the local and regional economy will be immense, opening doors to new opportunities and ensuring a more connected and sustainable future for all.

Stay tuned for updates on these transformations in the highways of Minas and how they may impact your life!
