In an announcement that promises to revolutionize internet access in remote locations, Starlink, SpaceX’s satellite internet network, will begin offering free connectivity starting in July 2025.

The new feature will primarily benefit those living in areas with limited or no internet coverage, providing more accessible and efficient connectivity.

Among the compatible devices will be models from major brands such as Apple, Google, Motorola, and Samsung.

Starlink aims to expand internet access to areas that traditionally face challenges in having connectivity services.

Starting in July, only certain smartphone models will be compatible with the free service, offering the ability to connect to the satellite network at no additional cost.

The devices that will be able to use Starlink for free include:

  • iPhones 14 and later models;
  • Google Pixel 9 and its variants;
  • Motorola models released from 2024 onward;
  • Samsung Galaxy A14, A15, A16, A35, A53, and A54;
  • Samsung Galaxy S21 series and later.

How Does the Satellite Internet Service Work?

Starlink stands out for using satellites positioned approximately 550 km from Earth, which allows for a significant reduction in latency of the connection, resulting in a faster and more reliable internet service, especially compared to traditional satellites that are much farther from our planet.

When a user is in a location without access to a conventional internet network, the satellite internet service will be activated automatically.

At this point, the device will display the message “T-Mobile SpaceX” on the screen, indicating that the connection is being made with Starlink.

Initially, users will have access to more basic functionalities, such as:

  • Sending and receiving text messages;
  • Location sharing;
  • Access to emergency services, like 911 (in the United States).

These functionalities are just the beginning. In the near future, Starlink is expected to expand its capabilities, allowing users to make voice calls and access the internet browsing, transforming satellite connectivity into a more robust and complete solution for those living in or traveling to remote areas.

Starlink has been a milestone in developing internet solutions for hard-to-reach regions.

Thanks to low-orbit satellites, which operate at around 550 km from Earth, the service has the capability to provide a high-quality connection, unlike conventional satellites that operate at much greater distances, reaching up to 35,000 km.

With over 5 million users worldwide and around 7,000 satellites in orbit, Starlink already represents a significant change in how people connect to the internet.

The quality of the connection is noticeably superior, with lower latency and higher speeds, making the browsing experience much more satisfying.

These advancements not only improve the user experience but also provide new opportunities for people who were previously out of reach of traditional internet networks.

Whether in rural areas or isolated regions, Starlink presents itself as a viable option for those seeking more efficient internet access.

To use Starlink’s free internet, users must keep their devices updated with the latest software versions provided by manufacturers.

By doing this, it will be possible to ensure that the device is enabled for Starlink’s satellite connectivity whenever the traditional network is unavailable.

Starting in July 2025, those who own compatible smartphones will be able to enjoy Starlink’s free connectivity, especially in areas where conventional internet infrastructure does not reach or is limited.

This initiative represents an important step in democratizing internet access, offering a powerful alternative for millions of people around the world.

With the growing expansion of the service, Starlink positions itself as one of the most promising alternatives to transform internet access in isolated areas.

The idea of connecting people in remote locations, who were previously on the fringes of traditional networks, represents a radical change in how the internet can be accessed globally.

Additionally, the expansion of connectivity has the potential to boost education, health, business, and other sectors in regions facing challenges due to a lack of internet infrastructure.

The democratization of technology through innovations like Starlink can help reduce social and economic inequalities while offering new possibilities for human development.

Starlink continues to expand its operations, aiming to make satellite connectivity an accessible reality for everyone, regardless of geographical location.

The possibility of connecting people in rural and remote areas opens a range of opportunities to promote digital inclusion and access to essential services.

For many, satellite internet via Starlink will be a revolution.

Starting in July, those using compatible smartphones will have free access to a high-speed network, connecting to the online world more quickly and efficiently.

The impact of this innovation may be even deeper as the technology continues to expand and evolve.

Get Ready for the Connectivity Revolution

If you have one of the compatible phone models with Starlink, get ready to experience an unmatched internet experience.

Free connectivity could be the key to digital inclusion for millions of people worldwide. To ensure your device is ready to access satellite internet, keep it updated and stay tuned for news that SpaceX will continue to offer.

With Starlink, the promise of accessible internet for everyone is closer than ever. The digital revolution that Elon Musk and his company SpaceX are promoting could transform access to information, entertainment, and even essential services like health and education in unprecedented ways.
