Ambev's selection process has a platform in the metaverse, where candidates for internship vacancies can interact as in a video game
In 2022, part of the selection process for the beverage brand Ambev will be carried out in the metaverse. The process opened enrollment on March 22nd for 300 opportunities for the internship vacancy program and for Representa, aimed entirely at black interns.
Ambev – which recently innovated by creating a 100% recycled bottle – says that he decided to innovate in recruiting through the metaverse when he developed a new platform, Ambev Expo, which will feature interactive and dynamic games. The purpose of this initiative is to promote different interactions with candidates who reach the final stage of selection. The process in general has a few phases: registration, testing and production of a video.
In a note, the brewery stated: “In the Ambev metaverse, candidates can create their own avatar (representation of the image of players within a game or platform) with more than 20 million customization possibilities with different types of hair, clothing, accessories and skin tones”. In addition, it will also be possible to communicate with NPCs (non-playable characters) who represent company employees and who can help in the final selection phase for internship vacancies or give tips on how to conduct a good interview.
Ambev's director of people and management in Brazil, Camilla Tabet, reiterates that the platform in the metaverse, created by PushStart, will allow those enrolled in internship vacancies to have contact with the company's production chain through explanatory texts, interactions and videos with workers from various sectors in digital versions, as explained by the director.
Regarding selective processes for internship vacancies, Ambev changed the logic tests and claims that it will not choose candidates because of college or course. In this sense, the only requirement is that the participant has an estimated completion of college from December of this year until July 2024. Among the assessments are behavioral skills, as Ambev intends to admit students who are able to work in groups and collaboratively, who are curious and willing to seek innovations.
After all, what is the metaverse? Understand this new technology below
The metaverse is a set of 3D virtual environments that users can enter through the use of special devices, such as glasses and headphones, for example. In the metaverse, there will be a kind of parallel reality, which will imitate the real world and where people will be able to interact with each other through graphic representations, that is, avatars. The concept of metaverse is a union of communication resources from social networks to two other technologies: virtual reality and augmented reality.

How do professions work in the metaverse?
In the metaverse, existing professions will undergo adaptations, such as, for example, architects would help design new virtual environments; lawyers would work with the laws of this new environment, in contractual, contractual and trademark terms. Furthermore, as the metaverse is considered the new phase of the internet, it promises to reproduce reality – and/or develop new ones – through digital devices and virtual reality. In this way, through this tech candidates for internships at Ambev or other professionals will have an immersive experience, walking and interacting with other people and content, similar to being inside a video game, unlike 2D websites. According to the Analytics Insight platform, in order to create this scenario, other professions must emerge, such as blockchain engineer or ecosystem developer.
