Di Santinni Invests R$ 19 Million in the Capodarte Footwear Factory, Expanding Production and Creating 150 Job Openings in Sapiranga.
Two months after acquiring the Capodarte brand, the multi-brand retailer Di Santinni, headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, announced an investment of R$ 19 million in the women’s footwear and accessories brand’s factory, located in Sapiranga, in the Vale do Sinos, Rio Grande do Sul. This investment focuses on expanding the manufacturing unit, renewing machinery, hiring new employees to fill 150 job openings, and increasing the necessary supplies for production growth.
Importance of the Investment in the Footwear Factory
Capodarte, specialized in high-end women’s footwear, became part of Di Santinni’s portfolio in July 2024, after the brand was purchased for R$ 36 million.
The new owner, known for its strong presence in the multi-brand footwear retail sector, has already initiated a series of actions to boost production and increase Capodarte’s market share in the Brazilian footwear market.

The president of Di Santinni, Artur Tchilian, highlighted the importance of the investment in the factory:
“We are undertaking renovations to expand the usable area of the factory and renewing the machinery to ensure an increase in production without compromising the quality that has always characterized Capodarte. Maintaining the brand’s DNA is our top priority,” stated Tchilian in an interview with the Exclusivo portal.
Expansion and Increase in Production
The factory of Capodarte in Sapiranga, which currently has a total area of 2,750 square meters, uses only half of that space for its operations.
Currently, the unit is responsible for producing samples of collections and part of the brand’s basic collections.
According to Tchilian, the factory accounts for about 10% of Capodarte’s total production, but the goal is for that percentage to increase to 50% by 2026.
To achieve this aim, Di Santinni plans to expand the production capacity not only of the factory in Sapiranga but also of other partner factories that are already approved.
The increase in production is seen as essential to meet the brand’s projected growth in the coming years.
“With the increase in partner factories and investments in the Sapiranga unit, we will ensure the necessary quantity of products to sustain Capodarte’s growth,” said the president of Di Santinni.
Creation of New Job Openings in the Region
The expansion of the factory in Sapiranga will also bring benefits to the local economy. Currently, the unit generates 85 direct jobs, with employees who were already active before Di Santinni acquired the brand.
All employees were retained after the change of control, reinforcing the new owner’s commitment to continuity of operations in the region.
With the expansion of the plant, Di Santinni estimates that an additional 150 direct jobs and another 250 indirect jobs will be created over the next two years.
The factory in Sapiranga is expected to become one of the main sources of employment in the city, contributing to local economic development.
“We are committed to the growth of the factory and the creation of opportunities for the local population. Capodarte has a tradition of quality, and we are confident that, with increased production, we will also expand our team,” declared Artur Tchilian.
Maintenance of the Factory in Sapiranga
One of Di Santinni’s strategic decisions was to keep the factory of Capodarte in Sapiranga, the city where the brand was founded.
This choice was motivated by the need to ensure the quality maintenance of the footwear, which has unique characteristics in its production.
“Capodarte has a production process that is quite different from other brands. This led us to choose to maintain the factory in the South, with the same team that was already involved in production. This gives us confidence in the quality of the products,” explained Tchilian.
Capodarte, previously owned by the Paquetá group, went through a difficult period before being acquired by Di Santinni.
Paquetá The Shoe Company, which was headquartered in Sapiranga, faced bankruptcy proceedings in 2021, with debts totaling R$ 428 million.
During this process, production at the Capodarte factory was significantly reduced, although it never completely stopped.
With the new acquisition, the factory received new investments and a growth plan aimed at restoring total production capacity in the coming years.
In addition to its multi-brand retail operations, Di Santinni has a history linked to footwear production.
“Although we are primarily known as retailers, we have never stopped producing part of the footwear we sell. We have several factories that produce products developed in-house for our stores,” stated the president of Di Santinni.
With the injection of R$ 19 million and the planned expansion of the factory, Capodarte can strengthen its presence in the Brazilian women’s footwear market, as well as generate job openings for the population.
Di Santinni, in turn, continues to expand its operations, not only in the retail sector but also in manufacturing, reinforcing its role as one of the largest networks in the sector in the country.
