With State Support for Rural Road Maintenance, Paraná Allocates R$ 210 Million in Equipment, Strengthening Infrastructure and Trafficability in Agricultural Regions of the Interior
The rural roads of Paraná are receiving one of the largest public investments ever directed at rural infrastructure, according to a report published.
The state government signed agreements totaling R$ 210 million to renew the machinery used for road maintenance and providing direct support for agricultural production.
The program, coordinated by the Department of Agriculture and Supply (Seab), benefits dozens of municipalities in the Maringá and Campo Mourão regions, marking a new phase of modernization in the interior.

The main objective is to strengthen rural logistics and ensure that agricultural production reaches its destination safely and at a lower cost.
Each municipality can receive up to R$ 3.7 million for the purchase of trucks, backhoe loaders, motor graders, and other equipment.
This investment is part of a broader state package, totaling R$ 1.5 billion and covering 397 municipalities and eight intermunicipal consortia.
The funding is a non-reimbursable grant, meaning it does not have to be repaid, and will allow 2,400 machines to be put into operation throughout the state.
Agreements for Agricultural Machinery in Paraná Strengthen the Field
In the Association of Municipalities of Upper Paraná (Amusep), which covers 30 cities in the Maringá region, the invested amount reaches R$ 110 million.
In the Community of Municipalities of the Campo Mourão Region (Comcam), formed by 25 municipalities, the funding is approximately R$ 100 million.
The cities covered, such as Astorga, Marialva, Campo Mourão, Roncador, Goioerê, and Ubiratã, are among those that most depend on rural roads for crop transportation and the movement of the population.
According to the Secretary of Seab, Marcio Nunes, the project goes beyond simply renewing the machinery fleet.
It represents Paraná’s commitment to increase investments in the field, strengthen soil and water conservation, and ensure safer roads.
According to the secretary, the program reduces production costs, increases the producer’s income, and facilitates the transportation of crops and access for children to rural schools.
Investments by the Government of Paraná in Rural Infrastructure Expand Results
For the mayor of Maringá, Silvio Barros, the investments represent a strategic differential. He highlights that well-maintained roads increase the competitiveness of agribusiness and reduce logistical losses.
The mayor of Campo Mourão, Douglas Fabrício, states that the new machinery is an unprecedented advancement, especially since many cities faced difficulties with old equipment and frequent breakdowns during harvest time.
The agreement ensures that resources reach the municipalities directly, which are responsible for the bidding and choice of equipment.
So far, 113 cities have submitted the required documentation, and 54 have already begun purchases. Each contract has a duration of 28 months, with the first four focused on acquiring machinery and the following ones dedicated to road improvements.

State Support for Rural Road Maintenance and Municipal Modernization
Municipalities can choose from motor graders, crawler tractors, wheel loaders, hydraulic excavators, dump trucks, backhoe loaders, and compactors.
The mayor of Mandaguari, Ivoneia Furtado, emphasized that the new machinery will strengthen family farming and ensure good conditions for product transportation.
The mayor of Iretama, Same Saab, president of Comcam, stressed that the renewal of equipment is a relief for municipal managers who face high maintenance costs.
For Armando Pimentel, mayor of Itambé, the program gives producers the means to compete on equal terms with other regions.
He states that improving crop transportation is crucial for the growth of municipalities.
Improvements in Trafficability in the Interior of Paraná with Machinery Program for Paraná Municipalities
In addition to renewing machinery, the state is investing in the paving of rural roads. Since 2019, 1,350 kilometers of roads have been completed or initiated, with investments exceeding R$ 521 million, benefiting around 100,000 families.
A new funding of R$ 2 billion has been announced to pave an additional 2,500 kilometers, covering productive chains such as dairy, pork, and poultry, while promoting rural tourism.
These combined actions consolidate Paraná as a national reference in agricultural infrastructure and mobility in the field.
