Omega Energia (MEGA3) will invest over BRL 250 million in solar energy after signing a partnership with Apolo Asset. The new partnership manages its own resources and those of third parties intended exclusively for the renewable energy sector.
This Monday, (18/07), the partnership sector of Omega Energia announced that the company signed a memorandum of understanding with Apolo Asset, less than a month after closing an agreement with the private equity firm Actis. The new collaboration seeks to secure new investments in renewable energy, in particular, the photovoltaic solar.
New partnership seeks to focus especially on renewable sources
In this sense, Apolo Asset, the company's new partner, manages its own resources and those of third parties destined exclusively to the energy sector, with a main focus on renewable energy sources. According to the conditions negotiated, the companies Omega and Apolo Asset will invest from BRL 100 million to BRL 250 million, each, in subscription and payment in shares of a new holding company focused on the generation of solar energy to be constituted.
In addition, Omega claims that the transaction is still subject to the formalization of definitive documents and other usual conditions for operations of this type, however, it promises to preserve the market by informing about the next steps to be taken by the companies. However, the company points out that the partnership is of great excitement for both parties.
Thus, these definitive documents that are being formalized by the transaction aim at signing definitive contracts to reach the transaction potential involving new investors in photovoltaic solar energy generating plants, mainly. In addition, the contract is intended for companies that do not invest only in solar energy, but in all renewable sources in the energy sector.
Omega Energia already guarantees partnerships for renewable energy
It is worth knowing that this is not Omega's first partnership with a focus on renewable energy. That's because the company's shares rose 19% on the B3 at the end of June, after an agreement with the private equity firm - companies that are not listed on the stock exchange - Actis, a world-class investment company focused on asset classes energy, infrastructure and real estate. The deal brought Actis to Omega's group of reference shareholders and secured financing of R$850 million to finalize the company's expansion.
In addition, the company stated that, through a US subsidiary, it is about to close an agreement with an infrastructure asset manager in the US, the name of the manager was not revealed. This agreement foresees possible investments of up to US$ 500 million in renewable projects to be distributed, developed or even acquired in the country.
Also according to Omega (MEGA), talks between the partners are advancing towards the acquisition of rights over a wind energy project with a projected installed capacity of 531 megawatts (MW), located in Texas. The company also stated that it has great expectations for the collaboration to work and guarantee success for both parties, such as the partnership with Apolo Asset.
It is important to remember that Omega Geração is the platform for investments in 100% clean energy generation. The company manages, operates and maintains the assets acquired and in operation. The company is also a public company and listed on B3, the official stock exchange of Brazil, (MEGA3).
