Free Web Programming Course for Youth at IOS with 60 In-Person Spots, Morning and Afternoon Classes at PUCRS, Registration Open Until February 20th and Support with Transportation, Snack, Uniform and Teaching Material.

The free course in web programming for youth at IOS (Institute of Social Opportunity) has opened 60 in-person spots and has arrived as a rare push for those who want to enter technology with a real structure. There are 30 spots in the morning shift and 30 spots in the afternoon shift, with classes at the Foundation Irmão José Otão, within PUCRS.

In addition, the student receives transportation, a snack, a uniform, and teaching materials, a package that helps to maintain momentum when the month gets tight and daily routines require presence.

Registration is open until February 20th and classes start on March 9th. With this, those in the decision-making phase have a date, location, and path defined to move from interest to practice.

Who Can Register for the Free Web Programming Course at IOS (Institute of Social Opportunity)

The selection is aimed at youth aged 15 to 29 who are currently enrolled in high school or have already completed this stage.

The rule is straightforward and objective, because the goal is also direct: to expand access to training in technology and facilitate entry into the job market.

Thus, both those still in high school and those who have graduated and are looking for in-person qualifications can find a possible route here.

And, since the classes are organized by shift, you can choose the time that best fits your routine, without having to guess what day-to-day will be like.

What the Course Teaches and How In-Person Classes Work

The free course in web programming at IOS (Institute of Social Opportunity) was designed to build a solid foundation in web development while preparing participants for the professional environment.

The training takes place in-person at the Foundation Irmão José Otão, at PUCRS, with two schedule options.

The division of spots works as follows:

  • Morning shift, from 8 AM to 12 PM, 30 spots
  • Afternoon shift, from 1:30 PM to 5:30 PM, 30 spots

Right after securing registration, the candidate enters the selection flow of the program and, if approved, starts classes on the scheduled date.

This in-person format often makes a difference for those who learn better with routine, practice, and closer supervision.

In addition to classes, the support offered to students helps reduce dropouts due to financial and logistical reasons:

  • Transportation;
  • Snack;
  • Uniform;
  • Teaching materials.

What Courses Are Available?

In this call, the course available is:

  • Web Programming

The proposal is to concentrate training in a pathway that directly targets the technology sector. Consequently, the focus remains on skills that can open doors for both the first opportunity and for area transitions.

Is There a Certificate?

The IOS (Institute of Social Opportunity) has been operating since 1998 as a non-profit organization. It has built a training model that combines technical content and the development of human skills.

Over more than 27 years, the institution has trained more than 47 thousand students in in-person courses, with an average approval rate of 75% and over 1,400 students placed in the job market each year.

Additionally, the institution trains about 2,000 young people annually. It provides follow-up for up to three years after completion, connecting participants to job opportunities and continued education.

Internal studies also indicate that entering the formal job market through training can increase family income by up to 59%, which helps to understand why this type of slot often changes the course of an entire household, not just one person.

Within this model, completion of training is recorded by the institution, following course rules and the student’s participation throughout the classes.

This serves as a proof of completion of the pathway, something that tends to be valued in entry processes and interviews for entry-level positions.

How to Register and How the Selection Process Works

Registration is done through the IOS (Institute of Social Opportunity) website. From there, the selection process organizes candidates according to the requirements, respecting age range, educational condition, and availability of spots by shift.

With the classes defined and the start date set for March 9th, the selection moves on to the stage of calling approved candidates and giving guidelines for the start of classes at the Foundation Irmão José Otão, at PUCRS.

This type of opportunity draws attention for a very concrete reason: in addition to being free and in-person, the course comes with complete support for students.

And this weighs in the decision because it is pointless to have the desire to study if the basics for getting there and back, maintaining the pace, and having material to keep up with the classes are lacking.

Registration is open until February 20th.
