According to public notice 07/2024, the Trilhas Inova Program, created by the State Secretariat for Science, Technology, and Innovation (Secti) and the Maranhão Research and Technological Development Foundation (FAPEMA), is offering 500 slots in Distance Education (EaD) courses.

The big highlight is that selected students will not only have free access to the content but will also receive a scholarship totaling R$ 2 thousand during the program.

What Are the Courses and How Do They Work?

The offered courses are part of the Trilhas Program, which focuses on training in Information Technology (IT), an ever-growing field with high demand for qualified professionals.

Classes are 100% online, and the content will be presented in a Bootcamp format, where students will have the chance to learn by doing, with activities and real challenges that simulate market demands.

In addition to the theoretical content, the courses will provide participants with an entrepreneurial perspective, helping them develop the skills needed to operate in local, national, and even international scenarios.

Employability is one of the program’s central focuses, which can open doors for future professional opportunities.

What Courses Are Available?

The free courses offered by Inova Maranhão cover various areas of technology. See below the complete list and the number of available spots for each:

Front-end Programming: 125 spots (300-hour certificate)
Technologies: HTML, CSS, Git, GitHub, JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Node.js.
Back-end Programming: 125 spots (300-hour certificate)
Technologies: HTML, CSS, Git, GitHub, JavaScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Docker, Python.
Game Programming: 50 spots (300-hour certificate)
Technologies: Python, Unity, Blender, Game Design.
User Experience (UX) Design: 100 spots (300-hour certificate)
Topics: UX Strategy, Prototyping, Usability Testing.
Data Science: 100 spots (300-hour certificate)
Topics: Algorithms, Statistics, Machine Learning, Power BI, Python.

These courses are aimed at those who wish to dive into the technology world, whether for a new career or to enhance their professional skills.

Who Can Participate?

To participate, it is necessary to meet some specific requirements. According to the public notice, anyone aged 16 or older can apply, provided that:

They are currently enrolled in or have completed high school in a public school or full scholarship in a private school, or are currently enrolled in/completed a degree at a public university;
They are a resident of the state of Maranhão;
They have access to a computer with the internet.

Applications will be conducted exclusively online from September 10 to October 18, 2024. There will be no application fee, and all required documents must be submitted in a single PDF file.

How Does the Selection Process Work?

The selection will be made through online tests that encompass questions on logic, Portuguese, basic English, and specific technical knowledge for each course.

The links to access the tests will be sent via email, as described in the public notice. Attention to deadlines!

If the candidate does not receive the email, they should follow the instructions detailed in the public notice to avoid disqualification.

All tests will be conducted online, and the results will be published on the official website of the Maranhão Science, Technology, and Innovation Secretariat.

Não para o Brasil! Mas infelizmente somente para Maranhenses! Por ser um curso EAD online, poderia abranger qualquer cidadão do mundo que tivesse logado para tal! Agora oferecer está oportunidade somente para “residentes” do Maranhão, isto restringe a condição de educação livre e democrática que seria adequado para situação que a população brasileira está vivendo atualmente. FALTA de uma.politica adequada e inteligente à serviço de todos!
