With the investment in the JBS factory, which will carry the Seara brand, around 2,600 new direct jobs will be generated and 150 new partnerships with integrated producers. Currently, the unit in Rolândia in the state of Paraná employs 3,700 direct employees, as well as 390 integrated producers. The expansion work of the JBS factory is already underway, and the completion is expected by the end of 2022.
Norberto Ortigara, Secretary of State for Agriculture and Supply, said that JBS’s announcement represents a milestone for the agribusiness of the state of Paraná and that the impact is huge for animal protein producers in the state.
Norberto also emphasizes that it is challenging to increase investments (as JBS, BRF, Klabin, and Gerdau have done in the state), especially in the current scenario, but that Paraná has the capacity and competitive potential, holds a quality seal for animal health, and operates carefully to ensure that businesses develop sustainably, from small producers to large industries.
