JBS Will Invest in the Construction of a New Factory in Rolândia, in the State of Paraná. The Expectation is That Many Jobs Will Be Created

JBS announced last Friday (05/14) that it will invest R$ 1.8 billion in its factory located in Rolândia, in the state of Paraná. Announcement of Investments and the Construction of a New JBS Factory in Paraná

Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior, Governor of the State of Paraná, participated in the announcement ceremony of JBS’s investment in the new unit, which is already in the initial construction phase. There will also be an expansion of the shift and modernization of the poultry unit of Seara in the city located in the northern part of the state of Paraná. Ratinho Junior stated that the state of Paraná has a vocation for producing food and feeding the world, and will now host the largest factory of breaded products and sausages on the planet.

The Governor of Paraná also mentioned that the state administration is focused on enabling new businesses and on enhancing the modernization of the state’s livestock sector, informing that this agenda has influenced the positive numbers in job creation and growth in industrial production.

Ratinho also stated that when a consolidated and internationally sized company like JBS decides on a billion-dollar investment, it confirms that Paraná is on the right track and will be very important for the recovery of the Paraná economy and for generating income and jobs.

Investments and Jobs in the State of Paraná

With the investment in the JBS factory, which will carry the Seara brand, around 2,600 new direct jobs will be generated and 150 new partnerships with integrated producers. Currently, the unit in Rolândia in the state of Paraná employs 3,700 direct employees, as well as 390 integrated producers. The expansion work of the JBS factory is already underway, and the completion is expected by the end of 2022.

Norberto Ortigara, Secretary of State for Agriculture and Supply, said that JBS’s announcement represents a milestone for the agribusiness of the state of Paraná and that the impact is huge for animal protein producers in the state.

Norberto also emphasizes that it is challenging to increase investments (as JBS, BRF, Klabin, and Gerdau have done in the state), especially in the current scenario, but that Paraná has the capacity and competitive potential, holds a quality seal for animal health, and operates carefully to ensure that businesses develop sustainably, from small producers to large industries.
