With 2.2 Turbo Diesel Engine of 207 HP, Carrying Capacity of Up to 1,195 kg, and Innovative Design, the Kia Tasman 2025 Comes to Challenge Competitors and Promises to Dominate the Brazilian Market.

Kia is about to bring a big novelty to the Brazilian market: the mid-size pickup Kia Tasman 2025. José Luiz Gandini, president of Kia Brazil, confirmed in an interview with the channel A Roda that the automaker is studying the feasibility of production in Uruguay and subsequent commercialization in Brazil. But what makes this pickup so special? In addition to its bold design, it promises to deliver power, technology, and robustness to face the mid-size pickup segment in style.

Production in Uruguay: A Strategic Step for Brazil

To enable sales in Brazil, Kia plans to assemble the Tasman at the Nordex factory in Uruguay. This complex is already known for assembling models from brands like Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, and Ford, in addition to the Kia Bongo 4×4 itself. This strategy aims not only to reduce costs but also to meet the requirements for localization and sustainability, crucial factors for a successful launch in Brazil.

Innovative and Differentiated Design of the Kia Tasman 2025

The production of the Kia Tasman 2025 is planned to take place at the Nordex complex in Uruguay, where other Kia models and models from brands like Fiat and Peugeot are already assembled. This strategy facilitates localization and reduces costs for the Brazilian market.

If looks were a competition, the Tasman would certainly be on the podium. Its bold front, with small headlights and a narrow horizontal grille, gives the pickup a futuristic and aggressive aura. The robust bumper reinforces the feeling of adventure and durability.

At the rear, the highlight is the name “KIA” embossed on the tailgate. It’s a simple detail, but one that exudes personality. The rectangular fenders are a curious choice, deviating from the norm and enhancing the unique appeal of the Tasman.

Turbodiesel Engine and Mechanical Versatility

At the heart of the Tasman intended for Brazil is the 2.2 turbodiesel engine, capable of delivering 207 hp and 44.93 kgfm of torque. With this power, the pickup goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds, ensuring solid performance both in the city and on more challenging terrains.

For other markets, there is also the option of a 2.5 gasoline engine with 280 hp. Although faster, its focus seems to be less off-road and more asphalt-oriented. The mechanical flexibility, with manual and automatic transmissions, along with 4×2 and 4×4 options, is a big draw for different consumer profiles.

Technological Interior and Advanced Functionality

Inside, the Tasman impresses with cutting-edge technology. Inspired by the electric SUV EV5, the interior features three integrated screens: two 12.3-inch screens for the instrument panel and multimedia center, as well as an additional 5-inch screen dedicated to air conditioning control.

The carrying capacity is also a differentiator, with numbers that reach nearly 1,200 kg and a bed of 1,421 liters. Details like the 33-liter storage compartment under the rear seat show that Kia thought about practicality for daily use.

Off-Road Capacity and Exclusive Features

When it comes to tackling difficult terrains, the Kia Tasman 2025 does not disappoint. Its double-wishbone front suspension and rigid rear axle with leaf springs ensure stability in any terrain. The driving modes – desert, mud, snow, and rock – allow the pickup to easily adapt to different conditions.

To complete the package, the Tasman is equipped with waterproof connectors, allowing it to traverse flooded areas of up to 80 cm deep. This is the pickup for those seeking adventure without compromising safety.

When Will the Kia Tasman 2025 Arrive in Brazil?

There is still no defined date for the launch of the Kia Tasman in Brazil, but the arrival of a unit for energy homologation is a positive sign. Price and emissions will be deciding factors for finalizing its sale in the country.

With so many attributes, the Kia Tasman 2025 is ready to enter the competitive mid-size pickup segment. If production in Uruguay is confirmed, Brazil could soon see one of the most anticipated pickups in recent years.
