Horizonte, In Ceará, Is The City That Will Receive The Investment To Produce 40 Thousand Tons Annually
Klabin, one of the main producers and exporters of paper in Brazil, has just announced an investment of R$ 188 million to expand its packaging factory in Horizonte, Ceará. The initiative will bring numerous benefits to the region, such as the creation of new jobs and the strengthening of the local economy.
With the investment, the Horizonte factory will feature a new production line. Thus, it will increase its capacity to produce about 40 thousand tons of packaging annually. In addition to the increase in production, the factory expansion will also bring new jobs to the region. Therefore, it is estimated that around 200 direct jobs and another 400 indirect jobs will be created, generating opportunities for professionals from various areas and boosting the local economy.
New Factory Will Expand Production Due To A Special Packaging Equipment
Klabin has two other factories in the Northeast, in Goiana (PE) and Feira de Santana (BA). In this sense, with the expansion in the Ceará plant, the company increases its capacity in the region to 300 thousand tons, equivalent to 25% of the national total. However, the company holds a share of 40% to 45% of the northeastern market and 24% of the Brazilian market.
To increase productivity, the company installed a corrugator, a machine responsible for producing corrugated cardboard sheets, which give rise to the packaging. However, the new equipment is Italian and is the most modern of its kind in the country. Nevertheless, with the new investment, the company expects to meet the growing demand from various economic sectors that consume packaging in the Northeast, including the pharmaceutical, food, footwear, and cleaning industries.
