The Technical Agenda and the Fair in the City of Macaé Should Boost Discussions on Investments, Energy Transition, and Development of the Oil, Gas, and Energy Chain in the National Scenario.

The city of Macaé will host, between March 17 and 19, the strategic fair Macaé Energy 2026, one of the most relevant events in the energy sector in the State of Rio de Janeiro and even in Brazil, with a direct focus on business generation, employability, and integration between oil, gas, and energy companies.

Organized by Firjan (Federation of Industries of the State of Rio de Janeiro), hosted by Open Brasil, in partnership with the City Hall of Macaé and RedePetro-BC, the event will take place at the Roberto Marinho Journalist Convention Center, bringing together entrepreneurs, suppliers, executives, and major players in the national energy market.

The organization expects to exceed 10,000 participants, further consolidating Macaé as a strategic hub of the Brazilian offshore industry, especially due to its direct connection with the Campos Basin and expanding energy projects.

Strategic Program Divided by Axes of the Energy Industry

The Macaé Energy 2026 will feature a structured program over three thematic days, aligned with the main segments driving the Brazilian energy chain.

On the first day, the focus will be the oil and gas sector, with discussions geared toward offshore production, mature fields, and supply chain.

On the second day, the theme will be energy integration, highlighting the natural gas market, energy transition, and new opportunities in the sector.

Finally, the third day will focus on employability, an extremely strategic theme for professionals seeking offshore positions, technical opportunities, and entry into the energy industry.

In total, there will be about 30 hours of technical content, distributed across seven thematic panels and five lectures, in addition to a business fair with approximately 50 exhibitors.

Opportunities Network Should Boost Contracts and Partnerships in the Energy Sector

One of the main highlights of the event will be the Opportunities Network initiative, promoted by Firjan, aimed at bringing large contracting companies closer to suppliers in the oil, gas, and energy production chain.

In the 2025 edition, the program held over 300 business meetings, demonstrating a strong impact on generating contracts and strategic partnerships.

For 2026, anchor companies of significant weight in the energy market are already confirmed, including:

  • Petrobras
  • TBG
  • Baker Hughes
  • Transpetro

This movement reinforces the positioning of the event as a real negotiation environment, and not just institutional.

Sponsorship from Industry Giants Reinforces the Event’s Relevance in Macaé Energy

The Macaé Energy 2026 already has Platinum sponsorship from Equinor and Silver sponsorship from PRIO, two of the largest operators in the oil and gas sector in Brazil.

Additionally, the event has institutional support from strategic industry entities, such as IBP, EPE, ABPIP, ONIP, Abemi, Abimaq, Abeam, ATGas, IADC Brazil, and Syndarma, enhancing its technical credibility and reach in the energy sector.

This level of institutional support indicates a strong alignment with the strategic agendas of the energy market in Brazil, especially in the context of offshore production expansion.

Technical Congress Expected to Double Number of Participants in 2026

Another indicator of the event’s growth is the expansion of the technical congress. In 2025, around 2,000 congress participants attended the technical activities.

For the 2026 edition, the expectation is to reach approximately 4,000 congress participants, with in-depth discussions on competitiveness, energy innovation, and supply chain development.

The technical panels will address strategic themes such as:

  • Natural Gas Market in Brazil
  • Mature Offshore Fields
  • Energy Integration
  • Equatorial Margin
  • Industrial Competitiveness

Executives from Petrobras, ANP, and Equinor Confirm Presence at the Event

The program will feature the presence of high-level authorities and executives from the Brazilian energy sector, further elevating the event’s institutional weight.

Among the confirmed names are:

  • Sylvia Anjos, Executive Director of Exploration and Production at Petrobras
  • Paulo Van Der Ven, Shared Operations Director at Equinor
  • Symone Araújo, Director of ANP
  • Heloísa Borges, Director of Studies on Oil, Gas, and Biofuels at EPE
  • Márcio Félix, President of ABPIP

Representatives from Porto do Açu, the state government, and economic development agencies will also participate, broadening the discussion on energy investments in Brazil.

Direct Impact on Macaé’s Economy and Offshore Market

The Macaé Energy 2026 takes place at a strategic moment for the local economy, which is repositioning itself as a hub for energy, offshore technology, and oil logistics.

With the presence of operators, suppliers, and regulatory institutions, the event is expected to generate direct impacts on:

  • Job Creation
  • Strengthening of the Supplier Chain
  • Attraction of Investments
  • Industrial Competitiveness of the Region

For companies operating in the offshore, naval, oil, and gas sectors — especially in Macaé and the Campos Basin — the fair presents itself as a strategic showcase for new contracts and business expansion.

Considering the sector’s history and the volume of confirmed players, Macaé Energy 2026 is expected to establish itself as one of the main energy events in the interior of Rio de Janeiro and one of the most relevant for networking and generating opportunities in the oil, gas, and energy market in Brazil.
