Petrobras Informs That It Will Begin, in August, Scheduled Maintenance Stop Lasting 30 Days on the Mexilhão Platform and Rota 1 Gas Pipeline in the Santos Basin
Petrobras announced on the last day 4, Friday, that it will begin on August 15, a 30-day stop for maintenance of the Mexilhão platform and the Rota 1 gas pipeline, which transports natural gas produced at Mexilhão and other pre-salt and post-salt platforms in the Santos Basin. The intervention on the platform and pipeline was planned several months in advance, considering its complexity and the need for contracting goods and services and coordinating the availability of the necessary resources for its execution. About the Maintenance Stop on the State-Owned Platform and Gas Pipeline in the Santos Basin
Petrobras communicated the maintenance stop to the ANP (National Petroleum Agency) in October of last year, in the Annual Production Programs (PAP) and specific meetings with MME/CMGN – Natural Gas Monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Mines and Energy and ONS, in March of this year. The scheduled maintenance at Petrobras will allow for preventive maintenance and improvements to the facilities, ensuring the continuity and safety of natural gas transportation and supply operations.
In a statement, Petrobras says that the maintenance stop will conduct inspections of NR-13 equipment (Regulatory Standard on Inspection of Safety and Operation of Pressure Vessels, Boilers, and Pipelines) and SPIE (Own Equipment Inspection Service), which must comply with maximum deadlines established by the regulation.

These interventions on Petrobras’ platforms and pipelines will be necessary for the production and delivery of gas that require the interruption of the systems to which they are associated, requiring the stoppage of platform operations for the safe execution of planned services. Petrobras further emphasizes that the scheduled maintenance cannot be postponed, as it aims at operational safety and compliance with regulatory deadlines.
