The notice is organized by the Brazilian Society of Physics (SBF), with support from CAPES/MEC.
What Is the MNPEF
Created to qualify teaching in Physics in Basic Education, the MNPEF is a stricto sensu course offered nationally, coordinated by the SBF, and provided by Higher Education Institutions that host poles accredited by CAPES.
The target audience is teachers of Physics in Basic Education or Science teachers in elementary education.
Graduates or bachelors in Physics and professionals from related fields with qualifications recognized by MEC can apply.
Students in the final semester of these courses are also accepted with the required proof. Classes will start in the first semester of 2026, according to the official calendar.
How Will the Selection Work
The notice divides candidates into two groups.
In Group 1 (open competition, 70% of vacancies), registered candidates will take a National Written Test that is eliminatory and classificatory, followed by the defense of memorial.
Group 2 (30%) is reserved exclusively for teachers with at least 15 years of classroom experience.
The first stage consists of a curriculum analysis, which is also eliminatory and classificatory, before the defense of memorial.
The final score is the simple arithmetic average of the two stages, and classification occurs in descending order.
The written test covers General Physics content based on the classical bibliography of the field, listed in the notice.
The defense committee evaluates the candidate’s professional trajectory, motivation, and didactic production, as well as the potential contribution to Physics education.
Distribution of Vacancies and Affirmative Actions
The opportunities are distributed by poles of federal and state universities and institutes across the country.
In accordance with MEC Normative Ordinance No. 13/2016, 30% of vacancies at each pole are reserved for affirmative actions for candidates who are black, quilombola, gypsy, indigenous, transgender, and persons with disabilities.
The remaining 70% are for open competition.
Self-declaration or a medical report must be submitted to the pole within the deadline.
The poles include UnB (DF), UFAM/IFAM (AM), UFRJ (RJ), UFPA (PA), UFSC (SC), UFRGS (RS), UFABC (SP), UECE (CE), UFPE (PE), UFS (SE), UEM (PR), UFMS/UFGD (MS), UFAL (AL), and UFPI/IFPI (PI), among others.
According to the notice, four poles (30, 58, 61, and 68) will not offer a class in 2026.
Classification Criteria and Disclosure
The final result for each pole is published separately for Groups 1 and 2, with candidates listed in order of score.
In case of a tie, the criterion is the highest score in the Written Test (Group 1) or the longest service time in the classroom (Group 2).
If the tie persists, the older age will prevail. Local committees publish the scores and enroll students within the schedule.
Any changes in dates will be announced on the official channels of the MNPEF and the poles.
How to Enroll
Enrollment must be done exclusively online in the SB systemF, between August 25 and September 24, 2025. The registration fee is R$ 85 and payment must be confirmed by September 26.
When filling out the form, the candidate needs to verify the data, generate the payment slip, and keep the proof.
It is also necessary to send to the pole, by the final deadline, the documentation required to prove teaching experience or participation in affirmative actions.
