With More Than 5,700 Accesses to Military Commands and 2,000 to Defense Publications, the Brazilian Army Attracts Strategic Attention from the US, Mainly from Ashburn, a Tech Center in Virginia.

In recent years, the digital collection of the Brazilian Army has attracted the attention of an international audience, particularly from the United States. The statistics are clear: Americans lead in the number of views, with over 7,800 accesses, mainly from the city of Ashburn, Virginia. But what makes this collection so interesting to the US?

The Digital Library of the Army Doctrine Center (BDEx), inaugurated seven years ago, has become a rich source of information on logistics, doctrine and military strategies of Brazil. This curiosity reveals more than numbers; it reflects Brazil’s relevance in the global defense and security landscape.

Why Does the United States Care About the Brazilian Army’s Collection?

The Digital Library of the Army Doctrine Center (BDEx) is based in Brazil and organizes information on doctrines, logistics, and military defense. It serves as a public platform for access to monographs, manuals, and institutional publications of the Brazilian Army.
The Digital Library of the Army Doctrine Center (BDEx) is based in Brazil and organizes information on doctrines, logistics, and military defense. It serves as a public platform for access to monographs, manuals, and institutional publications of the Brazilian Army.

Ashburn, Virginia, is known as an important technology and security hub in the US, housing major companies and data servers. Coincidentally, it is from there that most accesses to the Brazilian Army’s collection originate. There were over 5,700 visits to pages related to Brazilian military commands.

This American leadership in accesses surpasses other countries and raises questions. Is it a strategic research? An academic interest? Whatever the reason, the data reinforces the Brazilian Army’s role as a source of relevant knowledge.

What Is Available in the Brazilian Army’s Collection?

The BDEx is organized into four main communities: institutional, scientific, defense, and support for major events. The documents vary between monographs, regulations, guidelines, and manuals. Information on territorial defense and military logistics are the main attractions.

Among the eight military commands in Brazil, those that aroused the most interest from the US were the Eastern Military Command, which covers states such as Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, and the Amazon Command. The latter, despite not having available files, recorded 750 visits, showing interest in its strategic relevance.

Why Does the Collection Attract So Much Interest from the US?

The Brazilian Army holds a strategic position in South America, along with extensive jungle combat experience and operations in the Amazon. These factors make Brazilian military doctrines a reference in the global arena. Logistics and cybersecurity defense are also topics that attract the attention of governments and companies.

It is no coincidence that accesses come from Ashburn, a tech hub in the US. There, servers of tech giants are concentrated, as well as government agencies and security companies. This may indicate that the search for information is part of defense studies or commercial strategies.

What the Data Reveals

The Brazilian presence in peace missions, its role in the Amazon, and expertise in jungle combat position the Brazilian Army as a force recognized internationally. Cybersecurity defense doctrines, present in the digital collection, are increasingly relevant in a connected world.

The American interest reinforces the need for Brazil to maintain transparency, but also to protect strategic information. After all, in times of technological and geopolitical disputes, knowledge is power.

The Brazilian Army’s collection is not just a repository of documents; it is a reflection of the country’s relevance in the global arena. The interest from the US, demonstrated by the thousands of accesses, highlights the strategic weight of the information available there.
