Many Jobs Were Created with the Construction of the Port Access Avenue Along with the Connection Ramp of the Rio-Niterói Bridge
The new access promises to improve the daily traffic of approximately 2,600 vehicles on the roads near the port. Bidirectional, the Port Access Avenue will be exclusively for commercial vehicles, with no permission for cars, motorcycles, and buses.
The Port Access Avenue was built along with the connection ramp of the Rio-Niterói Bridge to the Linha Vermelha, inaugurated a year ago, and both projects had investments of R$ 450 million, which generated about 1,500 direct and indirect jobs. The two projects are the main ones in the current concession contract of the Bridge.
With ‘Infinite’ Capital from China, Eike Targets the Açu Port for Solar Plant Construction
Allied with the Chinese, former billionaire Eike Batista is trying to repurchase the Açu Port, which previously belonged entirely to MMX, a company from the EBX group with the help of China Development Integration (CDIL). Additionally, Eike wants to return to the leading role and targets the construction of a solar plant capable of generating 1,100 megawatts, in partnership with Taiwa. He also has other mining projects lined up for installation at the Port.
The construction of a solar power park with a capacity of 1,100 megawatts, with the first 300 being built in an area adjacent to Açu Port, is expected to have panels supplied by the Chinese company Trina Solar, one of the largest solar panel producers in the world. “The energy tariff in Brazil is the best in the world,” said Amir, who was in Brazil from December to February negotiating with Eike and visiting the assets.
