The expectation of one of the negotiators, the CEO of CGGC in Brazil, Rafael Qi, is that the new plant will be installed in the city in the next five years.
“We are conducting the conceptual studies for this project, but the natural resources that we already know the city has, such as gas and oil, greatly favor the venture,” informed the executive, who highlighted that the thermoelectric plant has the potential to generate 2,600 megawatts of energy evaluated per month.
Maricá Is The Gateway Of Rota 3
The gas pipeline will bring gas from Búzios in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin – an asset that has the presence of the also Chinese CNOOC and CNODC, each with 3.7%.
The offshore gas pipeline comes ashore in Maricá and then connects to an onshore pipeline, which will take the gas to Itaboraí – where Petrobras is building the natural gas processing unit (UPGN) at the GasLub Polo (formerly Comperj).
The CGGC is considered the 33rd largest contractor in the world by contracted revenue and is currently executing projects in 100 offices spread across the globe.
