Paulo Thiago Miranda, operations director of Flapa, said that “We are investing about R$ 34 million in this negotiation, which involves the purchase of the trucks and also the equipment. We chose the brand again for fleet renewal and expansion because our trucks operate in severe conditions, 24 hours a day, and cannot stop. In this sense, the Axor ensures availability through strength, robustness, and resistance, in addition to the embedded technology and support from dealers.”
Of the 60 trucks acquired, 50 units are dump trucks of the heavy-duty Axor 4144 6×4, 4144 8×4, and 3131 6×4 models. The fleet is completed with Actros 2651 for road transportation of equipment and other versions of the Axor 3131 and the medium-duty Atego 1719 for support operations, such as convoys, water tankers, and crane trucks. Deliveries are expected to take place by October.

Roberto Leoncini, vice president of truck and bus sales and marketing at Mercedes-Benz Brazil, states that “We are pleased with this significant sale and to see that it was driven by new contracts from Flapa, which signals that mining is indeed one of the segments driving the recovery of the truck market and, consequently, the economy of the Country.”
Part of the payment comes from Flapa itself, while another part was financed by Banco Mercedes-Benz.
