The Mitsubishi Outlander Arrives as the New Mid-Size SUV, Promising to Be the Launch of the Year in Brazil. More Modern, More Beautiful, and Much More Fuel Efficient!

Check out this news that is coming to shake up the mid-size SUV market in Brazil: the new Mitsubishi Outlander! This machine promises to be the hottest launch of the year, with a cost-benefit ratio that will make competitors like the Corolla Cross tremble. Let’s learn more about this great car?

The new mid-size SUV from Mitsubishi is coming in strong, maintaining the tradition of being one of the most beloved models by Brazilians since the early 2000s. The Outlander has always been synonymous with reliability and technology, and now, with this new generation, it is more modern and sophisticated than ever. It is the result of the merger between the Renault-Nissan group and Mitsubishi and shares the same platform as the new Nissan X-Trail.

Mitsubishi offers two engine options for the new Outlander. The base configuration comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder gasoline engine, producing 184 horsepower and 24.9 kgfm of torque, with a CVT automatic transmission that simulates up to seven gears. But the real star is the plug-in hybrid version, which is the one coming to Brazil.

It combines a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 131 horsepower and two electric motors – a front one with 115 horsepower and a rear one with 136 horsepower – totaling 251 horsepower and an impressive 46 kgfm of torque. With this hybrid engine, the new Outlander is extremely efficient, capable of running up to 60 km in 100% electric mode and averaging 16 km/l in mixed cycle.

Design and Dimensions

The look of the new Mitsubishi Outlander is breathtaking. Even keeping its length of 4.69 meters, it has gained in other dimensions: it has a 2.70-meter wheelbase, 2.86 meters in width, and 1.75 meters in height. Weighing 1,565 kg, it has a spacious trunk of 620 liters with the seats folded.

The exterior design features chrome in the front, a bumper with a gray insert, and an adaptable full LED lighting system. On the sides, the SUV comes with a floating aluminum roof rack and wheels that can go up to 20 inches, as well as a two-tone paint job. At the rear, the look is completed with a spoiler, a gray insert on the bumper, and LED taillights.

Interior and Technology

Inside, the new Mitsubishi Outlander impresses with its high-quality finish. The interior space is comfortable, accommodating five adults and two children in the third row of seats. And it comes packed with technology: front seats with electric adjustments, heating, and memory for the driver, keyless entry, premium Bose sound system, electronic parking brake, Auto Hold, start-stop, driving mode selector in the console, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, electric trunk opening and closing with motion sensor, multifunctional 10.2-inch digital display, and much more. The multimedia system is also a highlight, featuring a 10-inch screen, 360º cameras, integrated GPS, and connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Safety

When it comes to safety, the new Outlander is a standout. All versions come with traction and stability controls, disc brakes with ABS on all four wheels, dynamic chassis control, six airbags, collision warning with active braking, blind spot monitoring, animal, pedestrian, and cyclist detection, rear cross traffic alert with braking for maneuvers, automatic high beam switching, lane departure warning, license plate reader, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function. It is as complete as the top SUVs in the segment.

The new Mitsubishi Outlander promises to be the leader among mid-size SUVs in Brazil. With an incredible design, cutting-edge technology, efficient engine, and a competitive price expected to range between R$ 200,000 and R$ 330,000, it arrives to outperform models like the Corolla Cross, Jeep Compass, and other competitors. Mitsubishi, which is already a traditional brand here, is set to win even more fans with this new generation of the Outlander. So, what do you think of this machine?
