GAC Debuts In The Brazilian Market With Five Models, Including Four Electric Cars And One With Internal Combustion; Sales Begin In May Focused On Technology And Autonomy
GAC Launch In Brazil: The Chinese giant GAC Motor confirmed the start of its operations in Brazil for the end of May 2025 with an ambitious strategy: five GAC electric cars will be launched at once, comprising four 100% electric and one with internal combustion. This approach marks the most robust debut of a Chinese automaker in the Brazilian automotive market in recent years, surpassing brands like BYD, Omoda Jaecoo, Neta, and GWM, which entered the country with only two or three initial models.
The offensive by GAC Motor represents not only an increase in competition in the electric car sector in Brazil but also reinforces the trend of diversification of the Chinese automotive portfolio, which now bets on high-value-added products, featuring different technologies and aimed at various consumer segments—from affordable urban vehicles to sophisticated SUVs.
Five Cars From GAC Motor Are Expected To Reach Dealerships This Semester
According to research by Autoesporte and data approved by the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV), the first models from GAC are already ready to debut. They are: Aion Y Plus, Aion ES, Hyptec HT, and the medium SUV Aion V— all electric. The fifth model is the internal combustion SUV GS4 (also known in some markets as Emkoo), which will be responsible for inaugurating the automaker’s line of combustion models in Brazil.

OMODA & JAECOO grows in Europe in 2026 with an integrated strategy of sales, innovation, local production, and technological advancement in the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain.
-
OMODA & JAECOO expands after-sales service in Brazil with competitive maintenance, a 7-year warranty, and high availability of parts for technological SUVs.
-
OMODA & JAECOO appoints Alessandra Souza as executive marketing director in Brazil and accelerates brand expansion with a focus on innovation, networking, and hybrid portfolio.
-
Jaecoo 7 with super hybrid SHS system exceeds 1,200 km of combined range with a 1.5 turbo engine, high-density battery, and intelligent energy management.
This multitechnological approach is noteworthy. While competitors like Geely debut with a single model (the electric SUV EX5), GAC intends to occupy distinct market niches from the very start, catering to consumers who still prefer internal combustion engines, as well as those already seeking a 100% Electric Alternative.
GAC Aion Y Plus: Electric Between Minivan And SUV For Families And Urban Fleets
The first on the list is the GAC Aion Y Plus, a model that blends minivan design with a mid-size SUV. With a length of 4.54 meters and a wheelbase of 2.75 meters, it bets on a spacious interior, ideal for large families or executive transport companies.
Powered by a front electric motor, the Aion Y Plus delivers 204 horsepower and 22.9 kgfm of torque, with an official range of 318 km, according to Inmetro data. The model’s proposal is clear: to deliver versatility, smooth drivability, and comfort with a futuristic design and low operational cost.
Aion ES: Focus On Corporate Sales With Refined Visual And Urban Range
Another confirmed model is the GAC Aion ES, mainly aimed at corporate sales and company fleets. With dimensions similar to the Aion Y, the ES’s differentiating factor lies in its internal finish and embedded technological features.
The brand has not yet disclosed all the technical details of the Aion ES, but it is expected to have a range close to 300 km, focusing on cost-benefit for intensive urban use. This model is expected to compete directly with options like the Renault Kwid E-Tech in shared fleets and the BYD Dolphin in direct sales to companies.
Hyptec HT: Urban Electric SUV With Focus On Innovation
The third electric model is the Hyptec HT, which positions itself as a compact SUV aimed at young, connected consumers. With an bold look, floating roof, and striking lines, the Hyptec HT bets on visual appeal and features such as smartphone connectivity, voice commands, and a multimedia center with an ultra-thin screen.
The electric motor is expected to deliver around 180 hp, with an estimated range between 300 and 350 km, putting it on par with models like the JAC E-JS1 and the Caoa Chery iCar.
Aion V: Medium Electric SUV Will Be One Of The Most Sophisticated Bets
Although GAC has not yet officially confirmed it, all indications are that the fourth electric model from the brand will be the Aion V, a mid-size SUV that has already been reviewed by experts and features next-generation batteries with ultra-fast charging and over 400 km of range.
The Aion V is expected to be GAC’s technological showcase in Brazil, competing directly with models like the BYD Song Plus and the Haval H6 HEV. It is expected to be offered in front-wheel and all-wheel-drive versions, along with features such as adaptive cruise control, autonomous parking system, and 360° cameras.
GAC GS4: Internal Combustion SUV Will Be The Brand’s Entry Model In Brazil
Rounding out GAC’s launch lineup is the GS4, an internal combustion SUV that will be sold with a 1.5 turbo engine and automatic transmission. The model has already been spotted testing in Brazil and is expected to occupy a price range between R$ 120,000 and R$ 150,000, competing with models such as the Jeep Renegade, Volkswagen T-Cross, and Honda HR-V.
Measuring 4.50 meters in length, the GS4 offers good interior space, refined finish, and a multimedia center with an integrated digital panel. It will be the entry point for those who still prefer internal combustion or mild hybrid engines.
GAC Motor In Brazil: Positioning And Market Expectations
The arrival of GAC Motor further enhances the advance of Chinese automakers in the Brazilian automotive market, a phenomenon that has been solidifying since 2021 with the accelerated expansion of BYD, GWM, Chery, and other brands.
GAC differentiates itself through the broad and simultaneous approach to various segments: electric, hybrid, plug-in, and combustion. The expectation is that the brand will establish a national network of dealerships, with technical support, structured after-sales service, and expansion plans already in the second half of 2025.
Moreover, the possibility of national production or CKD (with assembly in Brazil) is already being studied, depending on sales performance in the first 12 months of operation.
