Overview Reveals Important Changes in the Two-Wheel Sector in August 2025
In August 2025, according to data from Fenabrave, the Brazilian motorcycle market recorded 185,454 new vehicle registrations. This result represented a decline of 3.99% compared to July.
However, in January 2025, Abraciclo projected a growth of 7.5% for the year-to-date. This projection reinforced positive expectations for the sector.
Despite the temporary downturn, the movement shows how Chinese and Indian manufacturers are gaining ground. They are advancing alongside traditional Japanese brands.

Consolidation of Historical Brands and Rise of Competitors
Although Honda and Yamaha remain in absolute leadership, according to Fenabrave, other manufacturers such as BMW, Triumph, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Harley-Davidson continue to be present in the market.
However, since 2024, the market share of Indian and Chinese brands has gained strength. Notable mentions include Royal Enfield, Bajaj, Haojue, and Shineray.
The Indian brands Royal Enfield and Bajaj have established themselves as the 6th and 7th brands with the most registrations. They have surpassed almost all competitors except for the Japanese.
Royal Enfield, for example, dominates the custom category. Four models from the brand are among the best sellers.
Bajaj has maintained the Dominar D400 as the best-selling naked bike since 2024. This performance reinforces its competitiveness in the national market.

Strength of Chinese Brands and Expansion Strategies
Among the Chinese brands, Haojue occupies the 8th position in the registration ranking for August 2025, according to Fenabrave.
Its models DK160 and DR160 show constant growth. However, they still represent a small share of the overall market.
On the other hand, Shineray, which has been in Brazil longer, has invested in larger and more sophisticated models. At the same time, it has kept prices accessible for the Brazilian public.
In partnership with brands like Lifan and QJ Motor, the company has strengthened its presence. Thus, it secured 5.82% of the total sales in the sector.
This performance has established Shineray as one of the three largest in market share in Brazil.

Ranking Highlights Diversification Across Categories
The Fenabrave data from August 2025 indicates the fragmentation of the motorcycle market in Brazil.
Among the street bikes, the Honda CG 160 leads with 41,456 units. Close behind is the Mottu Sport 110i, with 9,778.
The Yamaha YBR 150 rounds out the podium in this category, with 7,702 registrations.
In the custom segment, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is ahead with 622 registrations. Following are the Super Meteor 650, with 535, and the Meteor, with 510.
In the trail segment, the Honda NXR160 remains unbeatable, with 16,317 units. The Honda XRE 300 and Yamaha XTZ 250 complete the podium.
The statistics reinforce that each category has well-defined leaders. At the same time, they show a constant advance of new competitors.
Perspectives and Impact of Eastern Advancement
According to Marcos Bento, president of Abraciclo, the sector is operating at full capacity. He stated that the market is meeting the growing demand from consumers and workers.
The rise of Indian and Chinese brands demonstrates that globalization has expanded the range of options. In addition, it has reduced prices and made the market more competitive.
Thus, the coming months are likely to confirm whether this sustainable growth will be sufficient to balance the Japanese hegemony, which has lasted for decades.
