Track The Expansion Of Electric Motorcycles In The Country With Updated Data, Participation Of Major Brands, And The Next Steps Of The Industry Towards Sustainable Mobility

At the beginning of 2025, the Brazilian market for electric motorcycles showed significant growth. The National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave) reported that consumers registered 3,452 units in the first quarter.

This number represents an increase of 104.74% compared to the same period in 2024, when 1,686 electric motorcycles were registered. The growth indicates the consolidation of a trend towards electric mobility.

Despite a slight decrease of 10.34% in registrations in March compared to February, with 1,144 units sold, performance remains strong. The increase is 54.59% compared to March of the previous year, reinforcing the sustained growth rate.

Major Manufacturers Bet On Electric And Hybrid Models In Brazil

This promising scenario has attracted the attention of major manufacturers. Yamaha launched the electric scooter Neo’s Connected and the hybrid Fluo Hybrid between late 2024 and early 2025.

Engineers developed both models with a focus on urban use, seeking to offer practical and sustainable solutions. Honda, for its part, presented its electric models abroad and has already signaled interest in bringing them to Brazil.

Honda’s focus is on models equivalent to motorcycles of up to 160 cc. Additionally, the Chinese company Yadea began local production of its models in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in April 2025, through a partnership with Jabil Industrial do Brasil Ltda.

This initiative aims to better serve the Brazilian market while strengthening the brand’s presence in Latin America. This demonstrates a strategic movement to popularize electric models.

Leading Brands And Highlighted Models In The National Market

In the first quarter of 2025, VMoto led the electric motorcycle market, responsible for 1,984 registered units. Other brands also performed significantly.

GCX registered 311 units, followed by Shineray with 171, Shansu with 154, and Watts with 153 units. The presence of multiple players highlights the growing competitiveness of the sector.

Among the models available in the country, the following stand out:

  • Shineray SE3: electric scooter with a 2,000 W motor, maximum speed of 59 km/h, and a range of up to 80 km. Ideal for daily urban commutes.
  • Shineray SE1: compact model equipped with two removable 60V batteries, Bosch 2,000 W motor, and water resistance with IP67 certification. Its design is focused on practicality.
  • Watts WS120: motorcycle with a 3,000 W electric motor, maximum speed of 70 km/h, and a range of 60 km per battery. The model also offers Keyless technology as a differential.

Challenges And Perspectives For The Expansion Of Electric Motorcycles In Brazil

Despite the rapid growth, the market still faces obstacles. Additionally, the charging infrastructure remains limited, making it difficult for consumers to adopt these vehicles more widely.

The initial cost is also high compared to combustion motorcycles. Another limiting factor is the low diversity of models currently available in Brazil.

Still, major manufacturers are entering the market and national production is growing, clearly indicating a trend of expansion. With the right incentives, the sector should solidify even further.

Moreover, the government and private sector are intensifying investments in infrastructure, implementing public policies, and expanding access to credit. These factors, therefore, accelerate the transformation and make electric mobility a viable and sustainable reality in the country.
