Agricultural Machine Is A Powerful And Extensive Transporter With Interchangeable Implements That Can Perform Soil Preparation, Sowing, Crop Protection, And Harvesting Tasks
The future of global agricultural crop production was revealed after receiving a Gold Medal at the Agritechnica 2022 Innovation Awards from the German Agricultural Society (DLG). The accolade was awarded to Nexat GmbH for its holistic agricultural production system revolution, based on a single transport vehicle that can be equipped with all the necessary implements for tasks ranging from soil preparation to harvesting.

The German company Nexat was founded in 2017 with the aim of revolutionizing agricultural production. In fact, Director Felix Kalverkamp stated: “We don’t need further optimization of existing technology, but something holistically new!” This is a bold statement, but supported by the involvement of his father and co-director Klemens Kaverkamp, whose resume includes senior management positions at Grimme.
The company also has the support of other leading agricultural machine manufacturers, including spraying expert Dammann, harvesting specialists Geringhoff, and the cultivation and drilling giant Väderstad, whose president Crister Stark said: “For long-term agriculture, climate-neutral and resource-saving, a rethinking must occur, both agriculturally and technologically, in harmony with nature.”

The First And Only Holistic Agricultural Production System In The World That Can Address Future Challenges Technically, Economically, And Ecologically
Nexat emphasizes that its innovation is not just a vision or a dream of the future. The new agricultural production system has already been in use for several years on selected farms under real conditions. And with great success.
“It is the synergy of 50 years of experience in development and cutting-edge technology from leading market agricultural machine manufacturers,” the company states. “The result is the Nexat Revolution: the first and only holistic agricultural production system in the world that can meet future challenges technically, economically, and ecologically. It is a milestone for the development of CO2-neutral agriculture in Germany, Europe, and the world.”
At the core of the Nexat system is a powerful and extensive transport vehicle with interchangeable implements that can perform soil preparation, sowing, crop protection, and harvesting tasks, using modular accessories developed in close collaboration with known and respected manufacturers. The modules can be swapped by one person in less than 10 minutes, and there are plans to fully automate this process in the near future.

One might argue that tractor-mounted harvesters mean there is nothing new here, but the Nexat revolution takes the concept several steps further: first, the system is 14m wide and designed for use in controlled traffic systems – this means that only five percent of the field is driven on, compared to 60 to 80 percent under conventional machines.
Nexat states that the new concept is closely aligned with the goals and challenges faced by today’s farmers, such as increasing their productivity per hectare and improving the profitability of their farms as a result. It also helps farmers take significant steps toward more future-oriented and climate-neutral agricultural practices by managing valuable resources more sustainably and responsibly. The potential benefits are:
- Potential Gains > 10-30 Percent Increased
- Energy Consumption > 30 Percent Reduced
- Costs/Tech > 20 Percent Saved
- Profit Increase > 50 Percent Possible
The combination Nexat-NexCo, therefore, gives rise to a completely new dimension of threshing performance when you consider that the transport vehicle is used year-round. The concept signals a paradigm shift in farming and should be viewed positively in terms of resource economy and ecology.
Another bold claim is that Nexat is not just another development that promises short-term gains in profit and yield. It is a solid plan to bring agriculture permanently back in sync with nature.
