The electric cars of the multinational Ford and Volkswagen will be produced separately, where each company will produce its own project.

After the multinational Volkswagen announced the sale of the MEB platform (ID of electric cars), Ford showed its immediate interest in the purchase, which made the company saver about 2 years in the development of this ID project. However, currently, each of the brands will go their own way, after the purchase agreement made in 2019. Even with this “separation”, Ford will still produce 2 models of electric cars, and then will start to develop its own platforms and technologies , according to the Insideevs website.

Both Ford electrics will be SUVs, one of which will be on the market in March of this year and the other in 2024, with configurations of a sports crossover.

They will be produced at Ford's Cologne plant and are based on the MEB, which will contribute to achieving Ford's zero-emission sales targets in Europe. The company plans to sell 600.000 battery-powered cars a year by 2026.

Autonomous production of electric cars

After reaching the market of electric cars from Ford, the multinational will focus on its own platforms, with its new generation of electric cars being sold heavily in Europe (and produced in Valencia), where the company producing models such as the Kuga, Galaxy and S-Max will focus only on the manufacture of electric models.

The multinational Ford is focused on becoming an exclusive brand of electric cars in Europe by the year 2030. However, to achieve this goal, it will have to completely renew its line of cars. In the multinational's change portfolio are the two models based on the MEB and the electric Puma, scheduled for launch in 2024. The car will be made based on its current platform with production in Craiova, Romania.
