The Electric Cars From The Multinational Ford And Those From Volkswagen Will Be Produced Separately, Where Each Company Will Produce Its Own Project
After Volkswagen announced the sale of the MEB platform (ID of electric cars), Ford expressed its immediate interest in purchasing it, which saved the company about 2 years in the development of this ID project. However, currently, each brand will follow its own path after the purchase agreement made in 2019. Even with this “separation,” Ford will still produce 2 electric car models and will then begin developing its own platforms and technologies, according to the site Insideevs.
Both electric cars from Ford will be SUVs, with one of them hitting the market in March of this year and the other in 2024, featuring configurations of a sporty crossover.
They will be produced at Ford’s plant in Cologne and are based on the MEB, which will help achieve Ford’s sales targets focused on zero emissions in Europe. The company plans to sell 600,000 battery-powered cars per year by 2026.

Get To Know The Electric Cars From Ford
Autonomous Production of Electric Cars
After the arrival of the Ford electric cars, the multinational will focus on its own platforms, with its new generation of electric cars being heavily sold in Europe (and produced in Valencia), where the company, which produces models like the Kuga, Galaxy, and S-Max, will focus solely on manufacturing electric models.
The multinational Ford is aiming to become an exclusive electric car brand in Europe by 2030. However, to achieve this goal, it will need to completely renew its car line. In the multinational’s portfolio of changes are the two models based on the MEB and the electric Puma, expected to be launched in 2024. The car will be made based on its current platform with production in Craiova, Romania.
