The Electric Mining Truck Has No Place for a Person to Access, Meaning It Is Fully Autonomous and Powered “On Its Own”

The success of drones, which can be used in any type of service, even in military operations, is already notorious, especially because they do not require humans inside. Thinking about this, the Chinese manufacturer Chongqing Electromechanical Group launched the first electric mining drone truck, according to the Blog do Caminhoneiro website.

According to details, the electric mining truck has no type of cabin or compartment designated for transporting people and is 100% electric. Called the Dianniu Ebull, the autonomous truck has batteries that can be recharged on the vehicle itself or replaced, reducing downtime to refuel the truck.

The electric mining truck has very specific characteristics. The batteries are located behind the motor and, should the truck need a battery change, the use of a crane would be necessary. The chassis and load box are only found in trucks operated by humans.

100% Independent Electric Mining Truck

At the front of the electric mining truck, there are various systems developed by the manufacturer that allow the vehicle to operate in a 100% autonomous manner. According to the company, the critical and safety systems operate in pairs, meaning that for each existing system, another identical one is in operation. Thus, if one stops functioning, the other takes over until maintenance is performed.

According to the Chinese press, this is the country’s first electric mining truck that has no cab or driver’s compartment and operates in an intelligent, electronic manner.

The manufacturer guarantees that the electric mining truck operates safely and that, with its intelligent and autonomous system, the use of the mining truck can significantly reduce pollutant gas emissions in the atmosphere, since the truck is 100% electric.

Developed in Switzerland, a 45-ton electric truck is being considered the largest in the world in operation. And this title is not only in terms of weight and size; the performance of the electric mining truck is jaw-dropping, with a motor housing a set of 600 kWh batteries that do not require recharging.

Named eDumper, it was built by the Swiss company Kuhn Schweiz, which specializes in providing machinery for the mining sector. Based on a conventional model from Japan’s Komatsu, the company installed an electric motor with a battery set.
