GWM's new hybrid SUV, called Wey 05, will arrive on the Brazilian market soon. The new GWM Wey 05 delivers a range of up to 1.000 km.

GWM confirmed that, in addition to the already known Haval and Ora, and the already confirmed Tank and Poer, it will also sell a luxury member of Wey. The launch of the new range will be the GWM Wey 05, a GWM hybrid SUV larger than a Jeep Commander and with almost 500 hp to compete with models from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The model's biggest attraction is its consumption of 250 km/l.

Design of the new GWM Wey 05 SUV surprises the public

The GWM Wey 05 hybrid SUV (also called Wey Coffee 01 in China) is 4,87 meters long, 1,96 m wide, 1,69 high and has a large wheelbase of 2,91 m.

The look is very European-style, with rounded volumes and angular features, tapered full LED headlights and taillights, and 21-inch wheels. This is no coincidence, as GWM's new SUV could be produced in Europe in the very near future, which could perhaps happen in Spain.

The change of name of the model is also no coincidence, which is already sold as the GWM Wey 05, without the Coffee, as will happen in Brazil. Like the example of Brazilian automotive market, Europeans would not welcome Coffee, an eccentricity that the Chinese appreciate.

Inside, the new GWM Wey 05 hybrid SUV has a premium aura, with a high-level finish and technological appearance to compete with brands such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, which lead the luxury segment.

The model has three screens, one horizontal for the instrument panel, the 14,6-inch multimedia center and another for the air conditioning controls, as is the case in Audi and JLR models. The sound system has 12 speakers and the internal lighting scheme promises 256 different colors.

Among the items there is also an electric trunk, 360° camera, seats upholstered in Alcantara, head-up display with augmented reality, heated front seats, panoramic sunroof, automatic parking assistant and level 3 semi-autonomous driving systems. according to the two versions offered in Europe.

The arrival date of the GWM Wey 05 hybrid SUV has not yet been confirmed, but it is possible that it will arrive later this year or, at the latest, by the first half of 2025. Prices are also a mystery, but considering that the current Haval H6 surpasses R$300, the new GWM SUV could cost between R$400 and R$500.

New GWM SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds

The GWM Wey 05 hybrid SUV is equipped with a plug-in hybrid package, that is, with the possibility of recharging from electrical networks. A 2.0 turbo front engine and two other electric engines are combined, which together deliver up to 483 hp and 86,3 kgfm of torque.

The traction is all-wheel drive due to the engine configuration and the brand claims that the model can go from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5 seconds, a number that is worthy of a sports car. The transmission of the new GWM Wey 05 SUV is a nine-speed automatic.

The battery has 39,7 kWh, enough for a projected range of up to 146 km in electric mode, according to the brand. Furthermore, it can be recharged at up to 50 kW. Another promise is that the model can consume 250 km/l, according to the combined WLTP cycle.
