Strategic Agreement Will Connect Startups and the Port Sector at Conecta Cais 2025
The Nexio, digital hub of Ocyan in partnership with Elogroup, and the Port of Açu formalized, on October 16, 2025, an agreement aimed at advancing technological solutions and integrating startups with the offshore industry. The announcement was made during the Conecta Cais 2025 event in São João da Barra (RJ), solidifying one of the most relevant partnerships in the sector this year.
The collaboration aims to strengthen the port innovation ecosystem, through the Cais Açu Lab, a port program dedicated to fostering the development of new technologies applied to logistics and industrial operations. Thus, startups will have access to real challenges from the offshore industry, while port partners will be able to explore digital solutions developed by Nexio.
Technological Exchange Strengthens the Offshore Sector
With the partnership, the two institutions will exchange experiences, technologies, and opportunities, accelerating the pace of innovation in the port environment. In addition, the agreement opens up space for testing solutions aimed at the decommissioning of platforms, within the lines of Research, Development, and Innovation (R&D&I).

According to Rodrigo Chamusca, executive manager of Digital Business and Technology at Ocyan, “participation in projects funded by the R&D&I clause of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) is an established practice at Ocyan, and we want to expand these capabilities together with the Port of Açu.” He stated that the goal is to expand the use of emerging technologies and integrate sustainable solutions into the industrial environment.
Cais Açu Lab and Nexio Extend the Reach of Innovation
Through the Cais Açu Lab, the partnership aims to create a direct bridge between the port sector and the startup ecosystem, ensuring testing in a real environment, technical validation, and practical application of solutions. Thus, the union will allow for the joint development of open innovation programs, with launching challenges to the market and implementing proof of concept at an industrial scale.
Juliane Carneiro, Innovation Manager at the Port of Açu, highlighted that the port complex is a development vector for the state of Rio de Janeiro and for the country, attracting new investments and boosting strategic productive chains. As she emphasized, “the partnership with Ocyan reinforces our vision that innovation arises from collaboration and knowledge sharing.”
Synergy Between Technology and Port Infrastructure
The agreement also establishes the use of Port of Açu facilities as an environment for testing and validating technologies developed by Nexio, in addition to promoting technical training, workshops, and knowledge exchange. In this way, the involved companies will be able to connect resources, reduce entry barriers, and accelerate the industrial innovation cycle.
According to information from the Ocyan website and the Portal Fator Brasil, Nexio was created in September 2024 with the aim of integrating digital solutions focused on operational efficiency, sustainability, and digital transformation in the oil, gas, and energy sectors. Meanwhile, the Port of Açu, inaugurated in 2014, is the largest private deep-water port-industrial complex in Latin America, operating with a focus on logistics, energy, and technology.
Collaboration That Boosts Competitiveness in the Sector
The initiative between Nexio and the Port of Açu reinforces the strategy to create an innovative and sustainable business environment, focused on technological integration and industrial growth. Thus, the expectation is that the agreement will strengthen the Fluminense innovation ecosystem, expand business opportunities, and position the Port of Açu as a national reference in technology applied to the port industry.
