Used 2016 Nissan Kicks: An Affordable SUV in Brazil. Discover the Main Features of the Model and Whether It’s Still Worth Buying in 2025.

The high fuel consumption is one of the worst surprises related to buying an SUV. This low efficiency is directly linked to the weight and aerodynamic profile of these vehicles, which rarely exceed the mark of 10 km/l in the city. However, there is an affordable SUV on the used market that breaks this barrier. It is the used Nissan Kicks, an SUV from Nissan that delivers a range of up to 562 km; check out the details below.

Used Nissan Kicks Delivers Up to 114 Hp

Weighing only 1,142 kg, the Nissan SUV can be considered the featherweight of the category, a situation that favors the good mechanical set formed by the 1.6-liter HR16DE engine and the XTronic CVT automatic transmission. The result of this combination brings averages of 10.9 km/l in the city and 14.4 km/l on the highway, using gasoline.

The performance of the affordable SUV is also pleasing, delivering 114 hp at 5,600 RPM and 15.5 kgfm at 4,000 RPM, numbers sufficient to propel the used Nissan Kicks from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.9 seconds. The Nissan SUV offers great interior space for four adults due to its 2.62 meters of wheelbase and 432 liters in the trunk.

Well-equipped, the mid-range SV Limited version of the affordable SUV comes with a color TFT screen and adjustable display on the dashboard, stability control, digital air conditioning, hill start assist, electric steering, parking sensors, multimedia with GPS, and Isofix for child seats.

Those who prioritize safety should opt for the top-of-the-line SL version, which adds items such as curtain and side airbags. In it, leather-wrapped seats are standard, as well as a 360-degree camera system.

Find Out Which is the Best Version of the Used Nissan Kicks to Buy in 2025

The success of the Nissan SUV resulted in its local production in 2017, when the range came to include the S, SV, and SL versions.

The mid-range SV continued to be the best-selling model and features ESP, hill start assist, push-button start, keyless entry, electric side mirrors, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED turn signals, parking sensors, and a 7-inch touch screen.

When buying your used affordable SUV, prioritize units with the Pack Plus, which adds side and curtain airbags and leather-wrapped seats.

The national Nissan SUV, in its SL version, differs from the Mexican version by the chrome door handles and electric folding side mirrors and offers as an option the Pack Tech, which includes collision warning, LED headlights, and an autonomous emergency braking system, among others.

Main Defects of the Nissan Kicks

Even being an affordable SUV, the model has its flaws. The first is in the suspension, notorious for its noise. A retightening of the components helps to reduce the discomfort; however, in extreme cases, it is necessary to replace the upper mounts of the shock absorbers, front control arm bushings, and stabilizer links.

The tires are good indicators of problems in the suspension and steering components: irregular wear is an indication of improper alignment. Before closing the deal, consider the condition of the tires, as a complete replacement of the 16-inch wheel set costs no less than R$ 2,000.

The CVT transmission rarely presents problems; however, it is necessary to stay alert to the fluid level and replace it at 100,000 km in cases of non-severe use. When in doubt, it is best to change the fluid and check for any leaks.
