Solar Energy Generation Panels Were Installed at the Fortaleza Metro, in Ceará, at the Juscelino Kubitschek Station
The Juscelino Kubitschek Station, a unit located in the Fortaleza Metro, capital of the state of Ceará, received 588 solar energy panels. The installation project for the solar panels is in its final phase, and the responsible company will receive approval from Enel to operate and conduct tests with the photovoltaic system before it goes into operation.

The Installation of Solar Energy Panels at the Fortaleza Metro, Ceará
Igor Ponte, president of the Ceará Metropolitan Transport Company, stated that although the metro already has an electrified system, which greatly contributes to the reduction of pollutants, the installation of solar energy panels at the Fortaleza Metro in Ceará further aims to solidify the commitment to sustainable development and the environment.
All electricity generated by the solar energy panels at the Juscelino Kubitschek Station will be fed back into the electrical grid of the capital of Ceará and shortly after will return to the metro – it will be a credit for electric production, resulting in discounts on the electricity bills of the responsible company.

A study reveals the expansion of renewable energy procurement in Brazil and shows how companies are taking advantage of opportunities to reduce expenses, ensure energy efficiency, and strengthen strategic environmental commitments.
The state government of Ceará estimates that the electricity produced by the solar energy panels at the Juscelino Kubitschek Station and another station that will also receive panels will be sufficient to cover the energy demand of at least four stations on the South Line.
Another Station in the State of Ceará Will Receive Photovoltaic Energy Panels
The Padre Cícero Station is being prepared to receive solar energy panels and the other necessary equipment for system installation. About 294 solar energy panels will be installed at the metro in the capital of Ceará.
Between the Juscelino Kubitschek and Padre Cícero stations, a total of 882 solar energy panels will be installed, distributed between them. The Ceará Metropolitan Transport Company is already studying the expansion of the panel installation project to other stations in the capital of Ceará.

The State of Minas Gerais Reaches the Mark of Highest Solar Power Capacity in Distributed Generation
Absolar reported that the state of Minas Gerais has about 938.1 megawatts installed of solar energy capacity in distributed generation. Throughout the state, approximately 80,160 systems are in operation across 841 cities, serving around 110,520 consumers. Minas Gerais is now ranked first among states with distributed solar energy in all of Brazil.
The Brazilian Association of Solar and Photovoltaic Energy also reported that the state of Espírito Santo has achieved remarkable results in the photovoltaic energy segment and in distributed generation, with more than 6,600 operational connections found in all 78 municipalities of the state. The Association also added that there are currently about 7,612 solar energy consumers in the state of Espírito Santo.
With the End of Subsidies, Requests for Wind and Solar Energy Installations Increased
Data released by the National Electric Energy Agency – Aneel shows that from January to August of last year – the period before the publication of the MP – about 931 projects for installing solar and wind power plants were presented, with these requests having a potential of 41 GW.
This was shortly after the approval of the MP, which ensures that these plants derived from alternative renewable resources receive discounts on transmission and distribution tariffs. This makes the electricity they produce cheaper – between September of last year and March of this year – the number of requests for the installation of solar and wind energy projects doubled, reaching 1,886 requests. Planning indicates that, if approved, the potential of these new projects could reach 85 GW of energy.
