Bombas King’s Plant Is Expected to Operate Until 2027 and Boost the Cearense Steel Supply Chain
A new foundry parts factory will be installed at the Pecém Complex. Thus, Ceará tends to attract automotive and aerospace.
Moreover, the investment of R$ 42 million is from Bombas King Industry. Therefore, operation until the end of 2027 strengthens the local metallurgy.
Investment and Job Creation
Initially, the first phase will create 50 direct jobs. Additionally, it will deliver 2,600 tons per year of gray iron, ductile iron, steel, and ferrous alloys.
Then, the final phase could reach 13,000 tons per year. Thus, up to 200 direct positions will be generated, with a more robust production scale.
Furthermore, proximity to ArcelorMittal complements the steel supply chain. This way, it reduces logistical dependency from the South, Southeast, and imports.
Industrial Expansion and New Markets
The plant will produce steel and special alloys, in addition to cast iron. Therefore, it will serve steelmaking, mining, agricultural machinery, auto parts, cement, s sanitation, and food.
Additionally, the company will supply cast parts to the metallomechanical sector. Thus, it will reduce logistical costs, high inventories, and exchange rate exposure.
Finally, the initial goal is 20% of local demand within a 400-kilometer radius. Moreover, eight companies are negotiating, representing 80% of capacity.

Attraction for Automotive and Aerospace
Strategically, the project aligns with the Automotive Hub. Additionally, the installation of ITA in 2027, in Fortaleza, reinforces qualification and Research and Development.
According to economist Joseph Vasconcelos (UFRJ), Ceará can consolidate a national industrial hub. Therefore, it tends to attract capital goods and durable consumer goods.
Furthermore, Brazil seeks foreign investment for electric vehicles. Thus, Ceará offers inputs, integrated infrastructure, and a competitive environment.
Logistics and Strengthening the Steel Supply Chain
The port location of Pecém is a central competitive advantage. Therefore, it shortens lead times, lowers freight costs, and speeds up flow to the North and Northeast.
According to Vasconcelos, the advancement dynamizes the Cearense steel complex. Thus, it attracts base industries and durable goods with qualified labor.
Moreover, economist Ricardo Coimbra (Corecon-CE) highlights the strengthening of the CIPP park. Thus, the state centralizes production and distribution of specific steel materials.
Finally, unlike ArcelorMittal, focused on plate exports, Bombas King will prioritize the domestic market.
Therefore, it will serve local industries with agility and sustainability.
