In an initiative that could transform the healthcare sector and boost the local economy, Ecco Fibras announced an investment of R$ 15 million to open a new factory in Camaçari. The project aims to create up to 1,000 direct and indirect jobs, and also includes the donation of advanced laser therapy equipment to modernize the municipality’s healthcare services. The partnership between the São Paulo company and the city hall, discussed in a recent meeting with Mayor Elinaldo Araújo and other local representatives, promises significant advances in healthcare and economic opportunities for the region.

Investment and Job Creation at the Factory

During the meeting, Ecco Fibras expressed its interest in investing R$ 15 million in Camaçari.

The expectation is that this investment in the new factory will result in the creation of up to 1,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Additionally, the equipment “Ecco Reability,” used for rehabilitation, was recently donated by the company.

The Secretary of Health (Sesau) will be responsible for selecting the facility that will receive the equipment and conducting the clinical studies for the pilot project.

The meeting was also an opportunity for the technical team from Sesau to learn about Ecco Fibras’ proposal, which offered to train local healthcare professionals in the use of the new equipment.

Mayor Elinaldo Araújo expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, highlighting that Camaçari is a reference in industrialization in the state and the arrival of a company of this size will benefit local healthcare and economy. 

Support for the Construction of the New Unit in Bahia

The Secretary of Health, Luiz Duplat, praised the donation of the equipment, stating:

“The presence of Ecco Fibras in Camaçari represents an opportunity to expand investments and create new jobs, which is extremely positive for our city,” he said.

The representative of Ecco Fibras in the Northeast, Augusto Queiroz, reinforced the company’s expansion goal.

He highlighted that Ecco Fibras’ factory products are even used in international events like the Paris Olympics.

“We are confident that this partnership will be a success,” he celebrated.

Gustavo Vieira, a physiotherapist, medical student, Secretary of the State of Bahia Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists Union (Sinfito), and a member of the Federal Council of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy (Coffito), also attended the meeting.

He emphasized the benefits that the partnership and the new factory will bring to the municipality, highlighting the constant growth in the healthcare sector and the demand for specialized technologies in the region.

History of Ecco Fibras

Ecco Fibras has 27 years of experience in the national market, manufacturing laser therapy equipment for areas such as aesthetics, physiotherapy, podiatry, dentistry, and acupuncture.

The meeting took place in the conference room of the Secretary of Government (Segov) and was attended by the Secretaries of Finance (Sefaz), Joaquim Bahia; Urban Development and Environment (Sedur), Andréa Montenegro; and Government (Segov), José Gama Neves.

With the partnership under negotiation, the next steps include formalizing the agreement and beginning construction on the factory.

The expectation is that, once established, the new unit of the factory will start operating and producing laser therapy equipment, contributing to the modernization of healthcare services in the municipality.

The installation of the laser therapy equipment factory by Ecco Fibras in Camaçari represents a significant advancement for the city.
