Mega Dairy Factory in Francisco Beltrão, Paraná, Receives Investment Close to R$ 1 Billion, Occupies 203,000 Square Meters, Starts Operating in 2026, Generates 1,850 Jobs, and Will Be Able to Process 5 Million Liters of Whey Per Day Focused on Whey, Lactose, and Infant Formulas.
In 2025, a mega dairy factory began to take shape in Francisco Beltrão, in Southwestern Paraná, representing a private investment close to R$ 1 billion and already set to start operations in 2026.
With a total area of 203,000 square meters, a capacity to process up to 5 million liters of whey per day, and an expected generation of 1,850 direct and indirect jobs, the complex aims to transform the regional economy by producing whey protein, lactose, and inputs for infant formulas.
Government Visit and Effect on the Regional Economy

The construction of the new industrial unit received a visit from Governor Ratinho Junior, who highlighted the economic significance of the project for Paraná.

A new Brazilian shopping center worth R$ 400 million will be built in an area equivalent to more than 4 football fields, featuring 90 stores, 5 cinemas, a supermarket, a college, and parking for 1,700 cars, potentially generating 3,000 jobs.
According to him, projects of this magnitude help consolidate the current industrial expansion cycle experienced by the State and reposition interior cities on the productive map.
With the mega dairy factory in Francisco Beltrão, the expectation is to create around 1,850 job openings, with approximately 250 direct jobs within the plant and over 1,600 indirect jobs in services, transportation, suppliers, and other activities in the dairy chain.
The prospect is for a significant impact on the income of families in the Southwest.
Infrastructure and Business-Friendly Environment
The government’s visit occurred after the launch of strategic roadworks in the Southwest region, aimed at restoring and expanding state roads. The improvement of the road network facilitates the flow of production, reduces logistics costs, and increases businesses’ interest in setting up new industrial plants in the area.
According to the state government, efficient infrastructure and legal security are key factors for attracting productive investments today.
The combination of restored highways, a stable regulatory environment, and technical support is deemed decisive for business groups to choose Paraná as a base for large-scale projects.
Additionally, according to the governor, initiatives of this kind do not only generate immediate employment in construction.
They strengthen traditional production chains, such as the dairy chain, stimulate agricultural producers, cooperatives, and transporters, and increase municipal and state revenue over the coming years.
Structure of the Mega Dairy Factory and 24-Hour Operation
The mega dairy factory in Francisco Beltrão will occupy an area of 203,000 square meters. Within this land, 34,000 square meters will be allocated to constructed structures, including manufacturing areas and support sectors.
The project also reserves specific spaces for wastewater treatment and internal paving, aimed at environmental management and intense traffic of heavy vehicles.
When fully operational, the industrial plant will be able to process up to 5 million liters of whey per day, continuously operating 24 hours a day.
The focus is on producing higher value-added items, such as lactose, whey protein, and inputs for infant formulas, products with strong demand in both the domestic and international markets. A significant part of this volume is expected to be destined for export.
Technology, Own Energy, and Sustainability
The project provides for a dedicated energy substation, ensuring supply stability for operations of large scale and high electrical demand.
Additionally, a biomass system as a thermal source will be used, a solution that helps reduce environmental impacts and allows for the use of inputs available in the region, such as plant-based waste.
Highly automated, the mega dairy factory will require skilled labor and constant training programs for operators, technicians, and maintenance teams.
The industrial layout has been designed to allow for future capacity expansions, should the demand for whey, lactose, and other derivatives grow in the coming years.
With this combination of billion-dollar investment, technology, continuous production, and a focus on high-value-added products, Francisco Beltrão positions itself to compete in the national and international market for dairy ingredients.
And you, what do you think: does this mega dairy factory in Francisco Beltrão have the potential to truly change the economy of Southwestern Paraná in the coming years?
